This review is for meat department at the Kitts Lane store. I had a very unpleasant experience shopping there today. Since I rarely cook steaks I wanted to ask a simple question about marinating a London Broil steak to make it tender. The woman working there was unable to answer that question so I thought I might ask a gentleman who I saw working in the back in the authorized associates only area. I signaled that I wanted to ask him a question, but he did nothing to help me after I saw him again in the front shopping area of the store. It was like he was giving me the "brush off". I gave up on buying the steak. I continued with the rest of my shopping. I returned after purchasing all my other items to buy a meat item once again. I saw a buy 1 get 1 free deal on Carondo meatballs so I planned to buy them since they could be refrozen according to what the packaging said. I'm going to freeze one and use the other within a few days, however, I wanted a question answered about how long I had to use it before refreezing and no one was available to answer that question either. I went to courtesy desk and the gentleman there couldn't find the use by or refreeze date either so he called meat department twice and no one was available to answer. A very pleasant woman who just showed up in the courtesy desk area did her best to make it right. She saw the gentleman who I believed was a manager in the meat department come by and she asked him about the expiration date again. Once again the "brush off". He was too busy to help me. The pleasant woman was finally able to answer my question, but she could tell I was very unhappy with the service from the manager I received. I have been to this location many times, but never experienced bad service like I did today. I have had people pleasant and helpful in asking questions in the meat department. I'm not sure what the gentleman's name is , but he had gray hair and was wearing a light blue short sleeved dress shirt and was at this Stop & Shop on Kitts Lane between the hours of 2 to 4 PM on Wednesday Jan. 3, 2024. If I never speak to this man again, it will be just fine. I will always remember who he is, but will never ask him anything again. It's time for me to do more shopping at Price Chopper or Big Y. Stop & Shop may have more generic items with their brand, but reviews I've read suggest to me that Big Y has better meat and customer service than Stop & Shop. I believe Stop & Shop has the worse customer service of all super market chains and their prices are not cheap. They want customers to shop, use self checkout, bag your own groceries and don't dare ask any questions. Do it all yourself, give us your money and go. Their philosophy must be if we're open, they will automatically come. I see very few smiles among associates in this Kitts Lane store. If I decide to return to Stop& Shop, I will go to another location, not this store. I personally know another meat department manager at another Stop & Shop who happens to be my neighbor and has worked at this location before and see if he knows anything about this man at the Kitts Lane location. I doubt if anyone from Stop & Shop will respond to this review if the store's profit margins fall within line of their expectations.

This is the closest grocery store to me and fills most of our basic needs on a weekly basis. If I want very high quality meat, seafood or vegetables, I typically take advantage of other options in the area. Also, there seems to be less of a variety of produce than I see at some other places within driving distance.

This store is unsafe. There are way too many people, some without masks, many not social distancing and even more ignoring the arrows indicating which way to go down the aisles. Even the employees were guilty of violating the safety guidelines. I will not go back as I fear for my safety.

Their grocery pickup service that they rolled out due to Covid is so easy and convenient.

I used to come here all the time but now I go to Price Chopper. S&S is too pricey. I just went in here recently at night for ONE ITEM and I thought I would be in & out. WRONG! They had this one elderly woman at the register. Now your probably like, why didn't I use self scan if I just had one item? I got one of those water jugs (Poland Spring/Nestle Pure Life) and you have to give those tickets to a person. Now this woman, I know that she's been working here for years now and she's nice and everything but she is going too slow. There was only one customer in front of me and they only got a few things (literally 3 items) and this lady is having a whole conversation about an item that the customer bought! No lie, I was standing in that line waiting for about 9 mins!!! I know she noticed me and the next customer that was behind me but it was like she didn't care, she just kept on talking.

I've been going to this exact location for 12 years...It's 2 mins away from my house... It's horrible now and I won't return. I went in today and realized the Garelick farms milk was completely out. So after purchasing the rest of my few items. I stopped at the customer service desk to ask when the milk will be in...since it's been 3 days and that's the only milk I drink. The customer service girl called Dairy 3 times no response. Then she called grocery 3 times and another worker call to the counter saying "don't call grocery...call dairy for milk"... The customer service girl said ok and asked about the milk. Again the other worker said the milk will be in today or tomorrow it's probably running late...Her tone was testy and she never made eye contact with me of course. The customer service girl just looked in my direction and said the milk is out. WELL OBVIOUSLY. All a freaking joke...I won't be back.

Ive been going there since day 1...they are remodeling and it looks like new management (younger) and they could care less...bad experiences with deli and I live 30 seconds away and I will never step foot in there again...Im going to change my pharmacy and even get out of peoples bank... I left crying today
