Horrible car. One headlight was out. Driverside window didn't work. And they charged me for gas which I filled up before returning the car. Would not recommend. Not worth the money.

In the world that we live in today, technology is approaching its Apex, but for some reason, Budget doesn't have more then one phone. The car that we rented battery died and we couldn't get a hold of Budget to just let them know. They have to have a better way to handle high call volume.

The WORST SERVICE I’ve ever received in 41yrs.The Cars anre are garbage. “ Low fluid; “requires maintenance,” break are grinding on roaders; smells like smoke; low tire pressure. ONE, 1 person working per shift, renting and clean vehicles. Wait times are hours. No one ever answers the phone in this location. Manager unreachable at ALL times. Never again use BUDGET/AVIS. Enterprise has gotta be better than this idiots. I’d rather walk barefoot in rain than rent from them.

I was charged 3 separate time on my credit card. Customer Service not trust worthy. Also Newington Ct site is disgusting. Office had Stains on carpet and very smelly. The car reeked of marijuana and filthy.

Worst customer service. The company should be embarrassed. Not only did I wait two hours to pick up the car at JFK then the reps in Newington were extremely rude and started arguing with me when I was talking to another customer. They were trying to upcharge the customer without a need to and when I told the resident that I would not pay for that she told me to shut up. Ridiculous and horrible.

This place is a nightmare. Untrained and uneducated staff. Booked an SUV, show up via Uber, they informed me that they only had a minivan available and that I was too young to rent one? How am I old enough for an SUV but not a minivan? Why would they show having an SUV available if they didn’t have any? Wasted $40 total on Ubers and an hour of my time. Stay away.

The reviews speak for themselves. She is very rude and unprofessional. I needed a car for 2 days because I had mine being worked on. Without going all into a rant, everything was cleared online. Got there, there’s an issue. Wasn’t any issues with the people online but when I get to her there’s an issue. Her attitude about it was so nasty and I never leave reviews online. In the end Uber there and back and no car.

DO NOT GO HERE!! IF I COULD RATE IT 0 STARS I WOULD.I reserved a Chevy Suburban 4 months in advance for our trip to Florida in July. I paid in advance to get a better rate and arrived 20 mins early to the Budget Rental in Newington CT on the date of pickup.When we arrived I noticed that there were no Suburbans in the parking lot but the young girl working the desk assured us it was on the way and we were just early.My wife left me there so she could get the kids ready to leave for Disney the next morning and I patiently waited for the car. After 1/2 hour passed the young girl came to me and stated that they could not find my car but felt as though it should arrive at some point that evening or early the next day. I was obviously very frustrated and asked to speak to the manager. The girl stated that she was presently on the phone with manager and I could speak to the manager through her. After another 1/2 hour passed the girl stated that she could either give me a refund or I could take a comparable vehicle which she explained was a minivan. I explained to her that a minivan is too small and def not comparable to a Suburban. She then proceeded to show me an old dirty minivan with bald tires. It took everything I had not to lose my mind on this girl!!!I told her absolutely not and we walked back into the office where low and behold the manager appeared from the back room. I let her know how I felt and she interrupted me saying they found a Ford Expedition at Bradley and if I drove up there right now, I could have it. I asked how I was gonna get up there since my wife had left me and she finally agreed to give me a Honda accord to drive up there and exchange for the Ford. I asked for compensation for the aggravation and she said them giving me the Ford Expedition at Bradley was the compensation. NO APOLOGY, NO SYMPATHY WHATSOEVER!!!I said fine, swallowed my pride and drove up to Bradley Airport. I gotta say, the woman Lisa up at Bradley was amazing. She apologized for the entire situation, asked me about my trip and reassured me that she would handle everything. She then proceeded to hook me up with a 2022 Ford Expedition that was loaded and made for such a good drive down to Disney with my wife and 3 teenage kids.In conclusion, avoid the Newington Budget at all costs. They don’t give a damn about any of their customers and should be ashamed of themselves. Save yourself a whole bunch of aggravation and drive the extra 20 mins to Bradley Airport.

If I could give this no stars I would. We booked a suv for a family vacation months in advance, fully paid for. Went to pick up our suv on 6/24/23 and it was the worse customer experience I have ever encountered. The woman was rude, acted like she could not be bothered, was on her phone more than she was helping the 10 other ppl waiting in line. I watched the people in front of me, she was so kind to them took the wife’s cc because the husband didn’t have his even though the reservation was in the husbands name. Well we were next and the same exact situation happened but we were told no I’m sorry I can’t do that, when I mentioned I just watched you let the people in front of us do it, she whispered and said I don’t know what your talking about. I asked to speak to a manager and was denied. So I fully paid for a 1000.00 suv, but could not pick it up because my husband didn’t have his cc on him but I had mine on me. They had no problem taking our money out when we booked the suv months ago. Then when I asked what can we do to get this fixed, she dismissed me and called next. I have NEVER been treated so poorly by customer service. I will NEVER do business with budget/Avis because of this one encounter and as I read the reviews I guess I’m not the only one.

Zero stars if I could.We had to call the Hartford branch because 20 minutes into our reservation time (and business hours) the woman wasn’t here.She waltzed in talking on her cellphone, and immediately copped an attitude with us for being upset that she was 20 minutes late to open the building, was incredibly unhelpful, rude…I’ve never been more upset with a customer service interaction.Do. Not. Use. This. Place.

Understaffed there is a underage girl working here that doesn’t know what she is doing. We have been waiting here over a hour and she is still not helping us. Definitely not coming back here. 0/5 stars look at the rest of the reviews this place speaks for itself.

I've rented from Budget numerous times and have never had a significant issue. I'm currently at the counter and dealing with the most unpleasant, condescending woman. She charged my card prior to telling me the charge. She charged for an additional day which I never authorized and stated that I was late returning the vehicle. I then told her that I would just keep the car an addition day and she refused to give it to me. She didn't give me her name and I'm literally still standing here waiting for a refund or a vehicle. I have never been treated this way before and I will absolutely think twice before returning to this location. If this isn't resolved, I will not be renting from budget in the future.

I prepaid for a rental came in to get the car my last name on my license didn’t match my last name on my credit card I paid with since I had a last name change and did not order a new card since the last name change so she told me to go back home and get a court document showing that a name change was done by the court so I brought a notarized paper issued by the court and they still denied giving me the car because the document was received recently. Not to mention the lady I was dealing with had a horrible attitude and was giving everyone there a hard time. The lobby was extremely dirty and the lady had her 2 kids there running around and tossing a ball at the wall. I will never come here again they won’t even refund me my money for 7 day and they also charge a 50$ cancelation fee

Avis/Budget The worse customer service experience I've ever had. Car not fit for a rental. Front end is axle or rotor issue likely. Staff was very rude and unethical. They gave an uneducated explanation of the situation and did nothing to help. They also loed about the vehicle being inspected, I there when it was returned and found the glass of the lady who called looking them. She was also told the vehicle was thoroughly cleaned amd inspected and that it wasn't possible her glasses where there. I saw the glasses as soon as opened the door. I went back in and they confirmed thia was the car. But when i returned with the askong to change it because of its condition i was then too top told that the car was inspected by a professional. I was told by customer service over the phone it was handled incorrectly but due to my time constraints I change the car on my trip so we suffered a horrible ride for more than 10 hours total. The car should have beem changed or send someone to swap the car, like most rental companies will most likely due. Still nothing was done in an effort to make the situation any better. The two girls should not have jobs which could put lives in jeopardy.
