Total crooks. Ordered a granite countertop, when he came to deliver he said he miscalculated and I owe him another 600 dollars. This was a time sensitive install and I had no recourse. Whatever you do, don't go here unless you want to get ripped off.

I had the best experience with Arts of Stone imaginable. Jose even worked extra on Christmas Eve so that I could have my counter in place before the holiday. The quality of the work and the material available can not be beat. I would definitely use them again.

I need to make an update to my prior five star review. was very disappointed to learn that my brand new marble countertop needed to have two little holes drilled in it on the lower surface in order to anchor my dishwasher. I guess I am naïve as I have never purchased a stone countertop before. When I had my plumbers on site to complete the installation of my sink and dishwasher after the countertop was installed they were unable to do so because they were no pre-drilled holes. I called Jose and asked him if he could come back and put those two holes in. He told me he does not install dishwashers. I told him I I am not asking him to install my dishwasher, simply to drill the two holes into the stone. He told me that was the plumbers job. As he was on speakerphone the plumber said "I never drill into stone countertops." Jose then suggestedthat the plumber install a strip of wood on the top surface so the dishwasher could be anchored. I reminded Jose that they are plumbers, not carpenters. A strip of wood would not have done the trick anyway as the door of my Bosch dishwasher would not be able to close past it. Jose then suggested that I buy a new dishwasher that will anchor along the sides. I couldn't see the logic of replacing a perfectly good two year old $1000 dishwasher because my stone maker did not not want to drill two little holes on the bottom of the countertop. So now I am left with plumbers on site, and a dishwasher with the door that won't close, and the stone maker who refuses to drill two little holes. Very frustrating. After heated discussion, Jose said as a special favor to me he would come over and drilled the two little holes and that he would leave his present installation job to do it. I knew he was not happy about this so I made other arrangements. I didnt want the negativity on site. Luckily my plumber knows an excellent stone person who miraculously happened to be in the neighborhood. (I live in the boonies) He called this guy and he came over and drilled the two little holes and placed anchors which took him about five minutes. Unfortunately he charged me $150 for the two little holes. I would have appreciated knowing upfront the requirement for these two holes to be drilled in my countertop. I looked to Jose to educate me in that as I have never purchased a stone countertop before and had no clue about anchoring the dishwasher. Disappointing and expensive mistake on my part. In summary, my countertop looks very nice. However, I could've done without the stress and strain of having $300 an hour plumbers sitting around waiting for two holes to be drilled that in my opinion should have been done by the man who created the countertop.

Despite the negative reviews about this place, Our experience with Art of Stone was a great one. One rainy Saturday afternoon, my wife and I had a few appointments to see granite contractors. Our first place we visited we were happy with, but we decided to continue to shop around to explore all of our options. When we pulled into art of stone the owner Jose was just closing up. As we were getting in our car Jose pulled up and apologized and said he has to get to an appointment soon. We spoke to him for a few minutes, then Jose invited us in to take a look around and offered for us to check out his yard where the granite was. We felt immediately comfortable with him for taking a few extra minutes of his time to reopen up his shop and take some time to talk with us. We took his business card with us and thought it over. Anyway we hired José to redo our kitchen countertops. He did everything he said he was going to do from the start the job. He had our kitchen complete the following weekend as he said would. We didn't any problems with him. He was honest, kind, friendly. We met His wife who was also friendly. The workers he brought along with him to finish our job were great too. I remember the day of installation, it was a freezing cold he worked for many many hours until the late evening. He and his guys worked very hard until the job was done. He did an absolutely beautiful job with our beautiful granite countertops! The one we chose was Typhoon Bordeaux it is so gorgeous!!! Art of Stone comes highly recommended from us!

Did a terrific job helping with stone selection and installing a kitchen counter. Jose was knowledgeable, capable and responsive to our needs. He gave us a timely and beautiful installation. I would recommend them highly

We had a great experience with Art of Stone. Our island was butcher block and we wanted granite to match the rest of the kitchen. Not only did we find an exact match, Jose came out the same day to make the temples and it was installed 3 days later. Jose had the granite installed before the competition across the way emailed me a quote. Jose & his wife we're super kind and accommodating to my 3 children who were present while we were shopping. If I ever need any stone again, I'm going straight to Jose.

Had a small bar project that we were happy with how it turned out. They came to measure promptly and had it done when they said they would. Easy to work with!

This clown should not be in business, granted I read the reviews after I hired him ,this was true hindsight 20/20 ,everything that anybody said disparaging about his work was completely 100 percent true, shoddy work ,a smiling snake oil salesman with some fucked up glued on hair, that tries to over charge you after installing and quoting the job. I held some money as he had to come back and finish, 15% +- it was like I had taken his first born, I had to have religious sermons text to me calls from book keepers and eventually debt collectors, even though the customer had paid him as he kept turning up at his house, I wasn't told this til afterwards. Don't use him these companies are everywhere beating each other's margins into the ground until they go belly up, which is not that far in this guys future so I wouldn't like to be the one ordering and paying anything in advance . Find someone else, unless you like to deal with a smiling fake fuck, if so this is your guy

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Jose and his lovely family. We were in the midst of a home renovation and had a very specific white quartz in mind. We did extensive comparison-shopping both at local competitors as well as big box stores, and his team did an excellent job of not only matching the stone but finding an even better price. They fought hard for our business and we really appreciated all the effort they put in on the front-end. We were told we set the record For the longest kitchen island in arts of stone history. We could not be more thrilled with the end product. It's worth mentioning that with every order Jose comes to your home and customizes the measurements of your countertops. This was very important to us since we have an older home and the walls are not necessarily level. We could not recommend Jose and his family higher... If you're looking for a countertop 'experience' and not just a simple financial transaction, Jose and his family are definitely the right folks for the job.

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! Please save yourself the time, money, and Stress. We showed up when their listing said they were opened and they were closed. We called and didn't get a call back. Finally 2 days later we got a hold of them. We should have just went else where. So after finding the stone we wanted, we had them come out and measure. Here is where it starts to go down hill. So they send us a quote that we agree to, and give them a deposit and schedule the install. So we start the demo on our counter tops to get them ready for the new counter top. A day before the installation the owner calls us and tells us it is going to be $1200 more than what they had quoted us. This is because of a measurement issue. my wife tells him that it is now out of our budget and need to cancel the order. He immediately starts screaming at my wife who at the time was pregnant. He refused to cancel the order because he said that" the piece was already cut." why wouldn't he tell us the adjusted price before making the cut. after a few days of fighting with the owner and not wanting to flat out lose our initial deposit we were forced to have them install the counter top. So he arrives to install the counter with what must be his 12 year old son. they bring in the counter and realize it does not fit, so instead of bringing it back and re cutting it, they decide to cut my walls to make it fit. The counter top was not the part of the slab that we initially paid for, they cut into my walls, and charged us for extra stone that we ended up not needing. The Cherry on top was at the end of it all the owner wanted me to pay cash!!!! The owner was very rude and a scam artist. This was the worst experience I have had working with a small company. I would never do business with them ever again. To this day I still get mad every time I drive past their store. STAY AWAY!!!

Though I'd read a few negative reviews we had the opposite experience. We initially worked with Ana who took us out to the stone yard to look at slabs. We were happy to find one that was exactly what we had in mind for our kitchen counters. We received a quote based on the kitchen plan we'd brought with us. We placed a 50% deposit. The owner Jose came to our house within a few days to template our counters. The other place we'd looked into told us it would be 3 weeks before they could come out for a template. After templating, they were ready to install within 1 weeks' time. We were pleased with installation, placement and filling of the seam (center of sink), cost and timing. We even went back and selected a piece for our hearth stone. I believe that was only 3 days from purchase to installation and he came out to template that too even though wend brought measurements. I recommend visiting before making a judgement based on reviews.

The owner comes across as a nice man. However, he schmoozes to get you to buy from him. He doesn't even know his own products well. His receptionist pushed me into putting a hold on a scrap of stone (really, a complete leftover from another job - a total scrap and listed as such on the receipt I have) and told me there were no problems if I decided not to go that route. After I put out the money because she convinced me this stone was hard to come by (and feel like an idiot NOW because it's common, but not desirable), she hit a piece with stone to give me a sample, and it CRUMBLED which indicated it wasn't a good fit for the use I had for it (which is why it isn't desirable). I felt uncomfortable about them having my money and said I wanted to do something else. Long story short, I didn't want to go that route, asked the owner if I couldn't find something different (like some backsplash tile or something else to apply my money to) if he would refund my money, and he went INSANE...CRAZY...started yelling and treating us like garbage. He told US that WE were taking money from HIS family when the exact opposite was true. He took money from MY family. I submitted a complaint to the BBB (check it out because their lack of response leaves them without good reviews as well). With all the reviews I've read, I'm glad I made the decision to walk away, but it looks like I'm going to have to file in court to get my money back now for a product and service that were never rendered. I waited patiently for a BBB response because I wanted to see if they would handle this like a true business, but what we have here is an individual who feels your money is his no matter what and feels he doesn't even have to give you anything for your money. He can't even control his behavior around people if they want a refund for a product not delivered, so what kind of business is this, really? Don't trust anything they say at this business. If I can't get my money back somehow, I will do the best I can to prevent others from losing theirs.

Really don't know how businesses like this stay open. I wish I had one positive thing to say about my experience but I have none. I wrote this review since Yelp has chosen to mysteriously "Not recommend" a review from another customer who had a very similar and negative experience. It's a shame because other customers may not see her review and be caught in a similar situation. Just like her experience, I too had the owner delivery unsatisfactory stone and labor. The best thing to remember about countertops is you have to be sure the installer is skilled and easy to work with. You can buy a piece of granite/marble/ Quartz anywhere but the person who installs it makes all the difference. Ask about how they bond the seams and how close they can get the seams. If you have a contractor working with you - go with their recommendation. I had to fire this company and ask them not to complete the work as they were in over their heads with the simplest details. They didn't even ask us what overhang or thickness we wanted for the countertops when we placed our order. I'll spare everyone the gritty details but the owner is not someone you want to deal with when something goes wrong. I ended up getting another company to complete the work with a new piece of stone for CHEAPER and no hassles! Mind boggling.

They reel you in with very competitive prices but look out. We ordered 2 pieces of stone. One was fine, the other arrived with a crack. First Jose told us this was just veining. When we pushed him on it he admitted it was a crack but that he had reenforced it with steel and applied a (visible) resin. We asked to exchange it. Jose implied he would do that and wasted the next 2 weeks negotiating a piece to exchange it for until he then decided that he would do nothing . We took him to Small Claims Court in Dec.14 and won! He is unethical, rude and untrustworthy. There are 2 better shops within a couple of miles on Route 7, similar prices, better staff. La Pietra in Brookfield & Marble and Granite Creations just south on the other side of the road! They will be getting our business!
