Great people who take awesome care of their cats! We adopted our sweet boy from here and it was very clear that they loved him and the other cats at the shelter. They were also very excited to show us all the cats they had when we visited them. Their adoption process was also very smooth and quick, and they also did call the references, which is a great thing to do. Hopefully we will adopt another cat from them sometime in the future!

Unbelievably rude staff at front desk. Unfortunately I cannot donate here anymore. You need to relax then you can find these poor animals homes. But when you are an angry j**** that makes it hard on the animals. Think about that!!!

Very nice and clean shelter. The process was easy and they communicated well. The staff were super kind. Once approved, I was able to bring home a new kitty that day. She's been here a week and is already a perfect addition to our family.

Gosh this is a wonderful establishment. The employees we encountered could not have been kinder or more helpful. The space is very clean, full of interesting developmental objects for pups (and probably kittens too, thought we didn't visit that part of the shelter). The pups we played with were thoughtfully and honestly vetted, very well cared for, well socialized. You can tell the folks who work here are mission-driven and dedicated, true animal lovers. We brought home our youngest child from here, today, and she is a dream. :)

I stopped by on Saturday the 7th of Jan (2023) just to drop off some food.Some context: My health club has this large table set up for donations, which I think is wonderful; dozens of people have decorated the donation table with food, toys, leashes, etc.The outpouring of good will and generosity is endearing. I wanted to add to the spoils, so I picked up a nice bag of healthy dry cat food at Wal-Mart on the 10th, with the plan of bringing it to the health club and adding to the pile of donations, but then I thought, "I'm right at Wal-Mart, why not just go right to Animal Welfare?"... So I did.While there I asked if I could say hello to the kittens. A minute later I fell in love with this gorgeous little male kitten of 4 months, Griffin. I spoke with Kelly and made plans to pick him up on Tuesday.On Tuesday I came back and picked up my new little roommate, and we have been playing with his kitty toys ever since!I want to thank Animal Welfare of New Milford for all of the hard and important work that they do, and I wanted to give a shout out to Kelly who walked me through all of the steps to adopt Griffin. Thanks Animal Welfare! Thanks Kelly!

Very nice & helpful w questions & services info. $110 fee paid there in advance for voucher/receipt to schedule the New Milford Animal Hospital down the road to neuter cat plus typical shots necessary included.

Horrible, rude staff. We spent 2 hours with the cats and Said we would be back Saturday as Saturday Is the only day our family can pick up the cats. Out of NOWHERE the lady said "we wanted them to be outside cats so we can't have them" which is not true.. we would have done anything for those cats. They would have been so cared for and Had a beautiful home... even bought $200 worth of cat supplies including litter boxes because they would be INDOOR CATS. they were horribly mean people. I hope they are happy knowing they are the ones keeping them in the cages now.
