In March 2008, Whaling City expanded its operations by acquiring Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda from the former New London Motors and Creating Whaling City Mazda; one of the Best Mazda Dealers in CT. In July 2020 Whaling City Mazda was sold to Whaling City Auto Group LLC under the New Ownership of Filippo Marchionne.
The Auto group now brings the same level of friendly sales and service envisioned by Mr. Strochlitz to these new brands.
Filippo was a General Manager for over 10 years when he met the previous owner's, Chuck and Romana Primus. After being a General Manager for them for two years, Filippo was given the incredible opportunity to carry on their legacy and purchase Whaling City Motors while maintaining the Whaling City heritage.
