This place has turned into a dump and the staff there are horrible. The people running it are corrupt. It's actually really sad. Too bad too, they are helping themselves, not anyone who actually needs it.

Been kicked out of this place twice. Second time the City of New London Police escorted you off the shelter property. The stealing is true

This place is a god send for alot of people. They have worked with my homeless brother who is a veteran since October of last year. Highly recommend those in need checking it out.

It’s quite amusing. Everyone keeps each other entertained.. lol. I didn’t think I would say this, I’ll say. I’ll recommend it to anyone who is in need of help in housing, food, shelter, medical, and much more.I’m glad I took the leap into giving it a try… the housing department going to cover deposit and first months rent that will go towards an apartment. Once the client establishes a rental agreement and then the housing department will also purchase furniture and food to get the person started..!!I felt so much relieved after. Less stress and worries.MAHALO NUI (much appreciated) to the staffs for giving their hard work and dedication to sticking in with helping all those that is seeking needs.. ❤️❤️❤️

Horrible services. Won't help you unless you are receiving food stamps. Things are constantly getting stolen and missing either by the staff or the people admitted. No good communication between staff and the admits. Staff doesn't even follow their own rules. Staff also power trips and and is very unprofessional when handling troubling situations. My partner got kicked out the shelter due to a group decision however when asked and asking who was apart, everybody denies having involvement. Claiming she wasn't meeting with the people she needed to meet with (which she was) all because of being sick for a week. By far one of the worst shelters ever seen.

It's a good place for an emergency shelter, but if you wanna advance into your own housing, you're kind of on your own. I wouldn't have been able to do it alone if I didn't meet my husband there

Very helpful staff. It requires patience and persistent inquiries to get placement in the shelter in most cases. A place to shower and do laundry during the day or to receive mail or help with a resume. Donated clothes put out daily....

I’m advising anyone that ends up in this hell hole do not give these people any money because these people have no problem stealing wa disabled veteran because they stoled from me if you are thinking about donating there are honest organizations that do not steal from anyone but do not give your money to these people thieves do not deserve it there is not telling how many people including disabled veterans they have stole from

The staff are wonderful and friendly, the place is clean and they ensure it by not letting outside food in the building. However, I'm giving it 3 stars due to the fact that I had to request my AHS funds twice. That money is supposed to be returned when the client finds a new place to live. I desperately needed the money for cold medicine but still have not received the money. Do NOT pay 50% of your check to them because there is no guarantee that you will get it back.

Am64 yr old disabled American Sr citizen, xcon whom has lost apartment in Norwich going to prison and upon release went to nlhhc for shelter mid may 2022 place fulla drinks n druggies n that's both staff n homeless, tho disabled mentally emotionally n physically I was told I couldn't get cot in medical unit cuz I was too needy, think yu Dana Dixon, and as such I had to sleep on floor for 58 days trying to make it from one enda building to other before messing or wetting myself due to left sided weakness I am also a falls risk yet I was denied medical placement and was told on 58th day there that if I didn't take a placement in two days I'd be throw out into street. And just where does word hospitality come from sooo I was forced into a crack house fulla crackheads dope friends n drunkards. On such challenged roommate acts like a six yr old girl combined w Dennis the menace n baby Huey. I asked nlhhc to help me find better lodging cuz don't like living in crackhouse n was told to watch my mouth about their staff or I'd get cut off for assistance. I said what part of the truth don't yu wish to hear. Bible says to bless your enemies and if they ain't for me they're against me sooo God bless each and everyone of the staff at nlhhc for picking up your checks each week even if not doing anything to help others w disabilities. God bless Jerry moyher

The New London hospitality center is okay as far as an emergency place to stay but I don't believe that the staff does much to help a person find affordable living I think their main concern is focused on getting people to live in their shared living houses instead of finding individual housing I don't feel that the staff has your long-term range in mind if it doesn't involve staying in one of their facilities I found a few of the people there to be very helpful the nurse they have and really good she really goes out of her way to help people this place works well as an emergency shelter but don't expect too much more if you're looking for more than shared living the experience I had was terrible there are much better places I fell that there is no genuine ever to help a person find individual housing I give this place a three-star rating only because of its emergency services thank you Michael Baker
