Very dishonest and unhelpful. They are only interested in charging for things they don't do. They have a sign about customer satisfaction but clearly don't care about their customers. There is no way I will ever have them work on our vehicles because they can't be trusted to do quality work.

Salesman was very unprofessional, claiming I wasn't serious about buying a car. Then he goes and insults my wife over the phone.

Since when was it good business practice to be horribly rude to customers because you didn't make a sale? Had to go back three times to get our deposit back because the first time we were told they can't do transactions after 4:30, went back the next day and was told we had to bring the exact card we used and our receipt which we were not told the day before. Called them and was told it was common sense to know that and they guess not everyone has that and then was lectured by the sales guy because he didn't think we were serious about the purchase and that we wasted their time. NEWS FLASH KERRY IT IS YOUR JOB! Will never go back to this dealership after being treated this way and will make sure I steer everyone I know away.

The service department here has some truly wonderful people working there. Our van broke down on the side of the highway on the way home from a family vacation. We had the van towed to this Toyota service department, they were so helpful and did their very best to get us back on the road. We truly appreciated everything they did for us!

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE - UNREASONABLE & UNETHICAL. THEY LIVE UP TO THEIR TERRIBLE REPUTATION. I have had a few experiences with this dealership and my latest interaction has proven that when given the choice between what is fair/reasonable/right or unethical/cheap this dealership will always choose the later. The service department is wholly responsible for the total destruction of my engine and consequently completely ruined my car. Shortly after two indicator lights flipped on in my car, I scheduled a service appointment and dropped my car off. They "fixed it" that day, so I paid my bill and drove off. Five minutes down the road, both the indicator lights flipped back on, so I called the service department and I was told that "it was probably just a sensor" and that "the car was safe to drive and wouldn't do any further damage." I was told to make an appointment at my convince, "because there was no rush," and I made an appointment the next time a loaner was available. When I took it back they total me the engine was ruined and completely needed to be replaced b/c it had been driven too much and the indicator lights indicated there was a serious problem. I followed the service departments advice and now my engine is destroyed - are you kidding me. Had they told me to return the car when I drove off the lot, I would have and thus saved my engine. Instead of taking responsibility and replacing the engine or giving me some credit which I could use toward the purchase of a new car at their dealership, they basically threw up the middle finger and said good luck, its a he said she said situation. So now we go to court. Staff has been rude, unresponsive, unprofessional and scummy. I would advise anyone who has gotten all this way to go to any of the other dealerships in the state.

I recently went to Girard Toyota to purchase a new vehicle. They quoted my wife a price and agreed on a price for our trade in. We arrived to pick up our new vehicle, they asked us to sign over the title on our vehicle, removed the registration plates from our vehicle and asked if we wanted to purchase an extended warranty - we refused. They then stated that the new vehicle was going to be $1,800.00 more than we were quoted. We refused to pay the new price and stated that this was just a bait and switch. After much discussion, and them holding our trade in vehicle hostage, we agreed to pay and additional $600.00. Be ware of this dealerships bait and switch. Scott & Diane Harrington

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. Poor communication, lack of timely follow-through and deceptive practices seem to be supported by upper management as they have never apologized or otherwise returned communication despite reaching out for almost a month. I wish I had read reviews here and on other sites before making the mistake of purchasing from Girard Toyota. This process has been horrible.

I am writing regarding an incident that occurred to me on December 9, 2020, at Girard Toyota, New London, CT. On that day, I was at this location finalizing some details on a new 2021 Hybrid AWD RAV4 I bough the week prior. The process of buying this car was good. I appreciate everything John Goodrich did, for looking for what I asked and bringing the car to your location. Also, Kerry and Nick were very helpful, in the process, and Mr. Wheeler was incredibly professional and helpful finalizing process. Again, my car buying experience was good all the way through until that day. On the afternoon of December 9, I went to the dealership to pay for an all-weather RVA4 mat, and to get a refund of the prorated amount for the Toyota Care I had on the Highlander I traded in. To handle this transaction, I was directed to speak to Mr. Michael Collins, and that is when the incident occurred, one that I would have not imagined happening. First, Mr. Michael Collins came to me not knowing anything about my situation or pretending that he did not know. He asked me to explain him my situation as he was off the day of my purchase and did not have any of my paperwork. After I explained it to him, he proposed that I could use the refund and put it down for a Toyota care package for my new car instead of getting it later, but he asked me if I was military, to which I responded that my husband was. He replied, "thank you for your service", as I was signing paperwork requesting the refund, but then quickly followed that with "how did your husband pay for that?", referring to my wedding ring, which I found extremely inappropriate and disrespectful. After asking the question, he left with the request and then came back telling me that to the get the Toyota Care warranty on my car, not only he was going to keep the prorated refund, but now I also had to put an additional $900 plus to get the warranty. I quickly answered, "no, it's ok, that was not part of the original deal, I didn't want to put more money down, I just came here to get my refund". He clearly got upset, got up and walked away without telling me anything. As he was walking away, and asked him "Sir", to which he yelled back "yes" from the middle of the showroom. I asked him, "what is the next step to get my refund", to which he answered with the process but yelling in the middle of the showroom where everyone can hear him and with an attitude. This was so unprofessional and disrespectful. Right after that, I asked Kerry to speak with a manager. At the counter, Mr. Wheeler came and very nicely asked how the new car was. I told him that I was very upset, and I wanted to speak with a manager. He quickly responded that he was one of the managers. I told him that I wanted to write a formal complaint. Then Nick took me to one of the offices to do so, however, I really wanted to leave the place as soon as possible. I am the type of person that if I have a great buying experience, I will not only keep buying from you, but also promote you, recommend you to other people and send customers your way, as I have done with my previous car salesman, from which I bough three cars and send many customers his way. If you want reference, I'm wailing to provide them. Although my car buying experience here was good up to that point, this incident was so upsetting because of this individual's unprofessional behavior, that I am extremely hesitant to promote you or recommend you to people I know. It is unfair for everyone else at Girard Toyota because they work hard and are very professional, but knowing that this individual is there, I would not want anyone I know or care about to even have the chance to cross paths with this individual. It is a shame that a rotten apple would spoil the rest of the batch. I hope that other people's experience is not ruin by one individual the way mine was. I appreciate Mr. Wheeler and Nick for their response and concern. I wished Kerry would have also be more involved at that time, it is

Great timeliness for recall work. Was able to schedule it only a couple days out and have it repaired very quickly.

I had a great experience at Girard Toyota. Mike Collins helped me find exactly what I was looking for. The service was fabulous and the team especially Mike and Zach Skinner were hands on and very kind. I would recommend this dealership and team at Girard Toyota to anyone looking to buy a car!! 5
