Absolutely the best bike shop ever!!! After a long search for a bike that would fit, I decided to get a custom bike and was fortunate to come across True Cyclery. Karl was wonderful with setting up several test rides, answering lots of questions and going through the fit process. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and kind! It was truly a joy to build my dream bike with him and he did a tremendous job with the fit, build and deciding the components! I have never been happier riding a bike and it wouldn't have been possible without True Cyclery!!

Karl was able to identify and fix a rattling noise on my bike. He performed a top to bottom service on my bike. Feels like a new bike. I would highly recommend True Cyclery!

I brought my wheelchair to them and they serviced it while I was in the car. They came and took my chair and did the maintenance in minutes and then returned it. They were very cooperative and respectful and they cost very little.

Relatively new to New Haven and needed to find a place to get both our bikes serviced. True Cyclery not only includes pick-up and drop-off in their service offerings (highly convenient), but Karl was super communicative, punctual, professional, and the job was done so well! So excited to get out on my bike this afternoon; True Cyclery will be my go-to as long as I’m in New Haven! Wonderful experience!

Needed to put a new groupset and wheels on my bike. Karl did a perfect job for much lower price than I was quoted from several other bike shops in the area and did it quicker too. In general great customer service. I'm not getting work done at other shops anymore!

Karl, owner at True Cyclery, is really the complete package. He’s incredibly kind, knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. I can say this because I’ve seen him work on my bike, other’s bikes, and his own. He treats them all with the same sincere care that a mechanic should.He fit, built, and services my Nighthawk; a modern road bike concept co-developed with Royal H out of Greater Boston. It’s my first custom bike and Karl made me feel at ease and completely stoked throughout the entire process. Working with Karl I felt completely taken care of, and enjoy riding my bike more than ever before—a tall order having ridden almost a decade out in Northwestern New Mexico prior.Having gotten to know Karl more closely through the custom bike process has added other layers of joy. Ask about his True to Brew series, racing CX with him and the crew of other fun folks, or just pop in for a beer and talk shop.

Many years ago I decided I wanted a legit bike, and for many years i knew when the time came to make the purchase I wanted it to come from a legit shop. As luck would have it in walks Karl at True Cyclery. Having met Karl long ago through a mutual friend there was no question in his love of all things bike related. So of course I made the sane decision to get a new bike during a global pandemic when no one else could possibly have that idea! Karl though despite crazy supply chain issues collected all my necessary info and within a few weeks was able to secure and build me a shiny new bike! As Karl would say this thing is "Mint" and he's not wrong. If you are in the market for a new bike with an unmatched level of personal touch and knowledge look no further.

Karl was awesome!!!! I went there last minute yesterday as he was the only bike shop open until 7pm I just needed someone to make sure I assembled my bike correctly (my brakes were disc brakes and they were squeaking) and ensure everything was working properly - do not use apple maps to find him as there are 2 bradley streets in new haven and apple maps almost brought me somewhere completely different thankfully I called and Karl gave me directions!!! Great service and even more a great person to deal with! I even learned some things I never knew before! I will be taking my bike here from now on its a little far from where I live but every other bike shop I have been too they have been arrogant and rude. Go see Karl and his crew for all your bike needs!!!! Ill be back soon for my bike tweeks!!! :) Thank you Karl for your knowledge and kindness.
