Owner Rich Pepe's sterling reputation is well-deserved. We have been bringing our cars to him for years and he has never let us down. His prices are very reasonable, and Rich is really good at explaining the car's issues and assessing the urgency of repair. A+++

This place is seriously the best. As someone with not a lot of (good) experience with shops, rich is fantastic. I know that I won’t get screwed over, he’s honest and tells you straight up what needs to get done and what could wait if you’re short on funds (like most of us.) and it’s affordable! I got a quote elsewhere for hundreds of $ more than what Tripps charged me. I always recommend them to whoever needs work done.

This is a small family owned business. This is not a shop where you can expect to walk in and have you car serviced and returned to you same day. However, Rich and Anthony are kind and honest and super professional and most importantly AFFORDABLE. My recommendation would be to schedule your appointments in advance and make alternate transportation plans. It's worth it!

Rich is the best. He is very patient and always takes time to explain what issues my car is having. Instead of trying to make money off of anything(especially as a woman), he always gives an honest opinion and leaves it up to me to make the final decision. He even once took my car for a drive(with me) at 7:30 AM and explained what was happening as he was driving. I appreciated that he fit me in before work when he didn't have to! He is always flexible. I will not go anywhere else!

Tripp's is definitely the spot to take your car if you are in the New Haven area! It does get wicked busy, so I recommend calling ahead if you are planning to bring your car in. I brought my 1994 Toyota Previa into the shop with a cooling issue and I was able to get a diagnosis in a day and got my car back in two days. They really give it to you straight and honest. The prices are really incredible for the high quality work that is provided. Also, the owner is a big fan of Steely Dan so that's always something that I look for in a mechanic. I would highly recommend you take your cars here because you surely won't regret it.
