I love going to the wine thief. They always have a great selection at a variety of price points, the staff is always very knowledgeable and very helpful in finding wine based on the flavor I am going for or the type of meal I am having.

Not a "find it all" type liquor/wine store, but very curated. They might not have 70 tequilas, but the 15 or so that they have are all excellent. Love going to their tastings on weekends. Staff are always super friendly.

Such a great experience! I recently just visited the Wine Thief and it was just what I was looking for! Staff was super helpful by guiding me to the best bottle that would suit my liking. I will definitely be coming back!

The rare type of wine shop where it is clear that they don't keep anything in stock that they wouldn't be happy to drink themselves. You can grab any bottle off the shelf and be confident that you've found a good wine at a fair price.Excellent selection of spirits as well. On the rare occasion that they don't have what I need for a cocktail menu they are always willing to order it in at request.An indispensable part of New Haven.

Great selection of wines. I wish they had less flavored lagers that tasted like peanut butter and more milk stouts. Great selection of hard liquor. Some of the staff is really nice; some of the staff really isn't. Like deliberately high school mean. And they're all in their twenties. High school is over. I try to be nice, but...no dice with these people. As a result, I think I'll be going someplace else. But overall, a good place in East Rock. p.s. Don't bring your dog. They say they're dog friendly because apparently they have dog treats behind the counter? They're not. I saw a woman bring her puppy, and she was treated so meanly by the mean high school posse. It was really sad and uncomfortable to see.

The shop has a small footprint but it's stocked with everything I need and more. The wine selection is clearly curated by a knowledgeable team. The beer options are interesting, unusual, always something I'm eager to try. I went in looking for a somewhat unusual amaro and sure enough, they had a bottle in the back for me--at a very reasonable price.
