They have been very cooperative with mailing our prescriptions during the COVID mess. Have been an excellent place for flu shots and they helped me search for a lower priced medication to replace a pricey one. Their text system for alerting you to an upcoming refill was great. I say "was" because the only problem I have had is that once, I accidentally tapped "Stop" in reply to a text from them, and I was removed from the list. Five different people have said they added me back, but I am, sadly, not back. This has been going on for about a year.

Every time I have gone here no matter what time of day there's only 1 cashier it's very bizarre. There's only two self check out lines as well. The employees aren't very helpful and I find that it's actually cheaper to go to Whole Foods or Trader Joe's where it's a much nicer atmosphere/customer service experience.

I was disrespected by the pharmacist and my medication was taken from me. That was on November 6. The pharmacist, Daniel Rocki, PharmD, sold me my medication at full price, his mistake. When I asked for a price adjustment, they returned my medication, then refused to give it to me. I was yelled at, called a criminal, interrupted, and refused any helped. Daniel Rocki, PharmD, told me that purchasing the medication with my own money was illegal and that I'd committed a crime. When I asked Daniel Rocki, PharmD, to call a superior, he refused. When I asked his name, he covered up his name tag. When I asked him to not interrupt me when I spoke, he interrupted me to say he wasn't interrupting me. When I asked for help, he refused. It was humiliating. Because my medication was taken from me, I had to cancel a family trip. I cannot be without it. I have spent at least 3 hours calling customer service to get this sorted out, calling no less then 6 times. What I've received is countless platitudes and promises that someone would call me back - to no avail. When I requested a copy of the notes on my complaint, I was told they were not public, and I would need to subpoena Stop and Shop to get any information. I was told the district pharmacy manager reported the issue was resolved, twice- not true. Instead, I have a voicemail of the district pharmacy manager angrily saying he "dealt with it." On Monday December 30, a regional food manager said he would call me back by Thursday January 2. Is there anyone above these regional managers who will follow through? Anyone who hears my voice and is willing to take me seriously? Should I find another more formal avenue to file a complaint? Do I need to hire a lawyer and subpoena Stop and Shop as they suggested? How would these regional managers and pharmacists feel if this was them who was yelled at in their community grocery store? If it was them who had their medication taken away and then had to cancel a trip to see their grandmother? What would make them feel like a valued customer, a respected customer?

This is what unions get you higher prices and worse quality. This store looks terrible and the ceiling is falling apart and its in a dangerous area. The worst new haven has to offer frequent this store, the druggies, drunks and hobos too. Oh and that d*** robot thing. So if you are into that kind of thing, stop by! Go anywhere else other than S&S

Their prices are increased since the union workers have come back from a strike. I have just come home from here and their yogurt and creamer prices have increased dramatically. I will stick to Aldis from now on.

The employees at the cash register are almost ALWAYS rude, non verbal and mostly uninterested. Most talk to fellow employees about not having a break or are on the cell phone. Where is the simple Hello...did you find everything you were looking for...have a nice day(please not have a good one) If you want 'customer service' I go next door to Dollar Tree...always at minimum pleasant. I shop almost entirely at Price Rite at exit 60/15 NB...prices are just the best...and getting better. Lets not even talk about the exorbitant SnS prices...geez really.

Visited the meat counter on 12/23 to pick up some ground beef but noticed what was in the case was clearly starting to turn (grey on the outside and pink in the inside). The department manager, who was helping to fill my order, noticed this and offered to get some "fresh" from the back. Two days later it had spoiled in my fridge...grey throughout and stinking. Unfortunately, it was now Christmas Day and I wasn't able to go back to get a refund as they were closed and I wasn't able to make the dish I had intended to make as I was now missing a key ingredient! The health department needs to pay them a visit and their staff needs to be re-educated on food safety before someone gets sick!

I had a near heart attack when I realized I left my purse in a cart in the Amity S&S parking lot.. when I called customer service I was quickly informed it had been turned in.. imagine my luck when I got there and all the items were still in my bag! I want to sincerely thank the employee or fellow customer who found my purse and turned it in untouched, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this.. I believe karma is real!

When my doctor made prescription changes it took them months to finally Getting It Right without me explaining it. Every month they would screw it up and I had to re-explain that they were giving me my old dosage rather than my new dosage. Ultimately I ended up leaving for my own safety I could not run the risk of them continually messing it up. The worst part is I was an employee there not some new client had been with them for years.
