Really wonderful place. I always see the caretakers cleaning up after the dogs and all the animals get fed often. You can also play with the dogs in special individual pens.

Safari Stan’s is legitimately awesome. We own an umbrella cockatoo named Alby. They are known for being difficult pets. We have boarded Alby at the Amity location numerous times without issue. The staff and Alby accepted each other immediately and continue to do so. I suspect appreciation of that statement will correlate directly with the readers knowledge of parrots. Point is, it’s amazing, and I remain exceedingly grateful for the peace of mind we feel whenever boarding is necessary. Thanks, and see you soon.Rich

It is 2023, there is no reason for puppy mill pet stores anymore. For the sakes of these animals you need to change your ways or you will face judgement.I was brought to tears at the condition of the pets in this establishment.

We purchased our beautiful puppy here, not realizing the horror and stories that other customer have encountered, only a bit too late realizing that my puppy has been sick with (3) different infections, costing us $1000”s of dollars out of pocket due to them selling sick puppies, we tried for months getting our reimbursement but no one seems to be responding back to us, their reimbursement policy is one big scam, my puppy is still sick and has not gotten better, the staff here are nothing but cruel to their dogs and pets, beware of this horrible store and what they do to customers, these dogs are suffering please call the better business burea and have them taken out

Still waiting at least 4 months later from management about reimbursement for sick puppy they sold us. Spent over 5 grand and they can't even do as much as return a phone a call. They owe us $1000 in vet costs because of their poor treatment of the animals. They also apparently force employees to work the same day as their immediate family member dies.

I will NEVER recommend anyone purchasing a pet through safari Stan's, specifically dogs. I purchase a puppy in Sept. under the impression they had no health complications. My puppy was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect in Jan of this year. This defect should have been notified to us immediately at purchase and the dog was NOT fit for sale. I submitted a claim through their warranty third party service immediately. I had to call the location multiple times and when I finally got the manager on the phone then did I get a response through the warranty service. We were told the only way we could receive a full refund for our dog is to give our puppy back. It is now MAY when I get this response, four months after i submitted the claim. The dog is a year old at this point, why would I give the dog back who has a medical condition? So they can euthanize them or sell them to another family knowing well they have complications? Further more we found out Safari Stan's knew and accounted for the dogs congenital defect and still saw them fit for sale!! I still have yet to hear from the owner and no one in the company is willing to take accountablility. Do NOT buy a puppy from them, they do not care for the dog. They want only your money and to kick you out their door.

Spent over $5000 and a few months later still asking for management to reimburse us for vet costs since we brought the dog home with Pneumonia. I'm about to bring this to the attention of our attorney general.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS! There are so many rescues and shelters in CT with puppies and adult dogs of all breeds and sizes that need homes. You will pay significantly less going through a rescue/shelter. Do not pay these expensive prices for a business that supports the worst evils of pet breeding. THE LISTED BREEDERS ARE PUPPY MILLS. Read one article on puppy mills and you will not be able to shop at a store like this anymore. This is a business which means they will always try to find puppies for the lowest cost and need to keep a variety in supply. Puppy mills is the only way to do this. The puppies are cute and it is not their fault, but supporting this business means they will continue to refresh their "supply" of puppies. DOGS ARE LIVING BEINGS AND NOT ITEMS TO BE SOLD IN STORES.

Employees are rude. Place is disgusting and inhumane. And severely expensive especially for a pet store! Don’t come here! You’re better off at literally any other store or shelter!!!!!

This pet store is willing to sell animals that have not been checked out thoroughly by a proper doctor. With a 7 day warranty they don't even give a person enough time to get an appointment.walking into this business I immediately noticed astrong oder of fecal, urine and disinfectant. I realized the store is poorly ventilated for the number of animals and the animals may not be healthy. Buyers beware.

Peddles puppy mill dogs and is part of the problem. If you need to buy a puppy, get one from a responsible breeder. Ethical breeders DO NOT sell to pet stores EVER. All puppies you see in stores are a product of suffering by the parents all for a quick dollar
