Never going back. The owner is rude, unhelpful and condescending

The store has a beautiful selection of natural fibers and hand dyed yarns. The owner made good conversation with my dad and I too, which I really appreciated. I am very happy with my experience and I can't wait to come back.
you might have a hard time finding synthetic fibers if you have a sensitivity to wool and other animal fibers, but ask about their plant based yarns. I did see linen, as well as bamboo blends.

Great selection of beautiful yarns! There’s always someone knowledgeable working to help choose the right yarn for a project or help with ideas. The shop is friendly if you want to chat knitting or look at latest magazines. I used to attend the Tuesday evening knit nights regularly and loved the vibe.

The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the yarn is great. BUT the woman was so condescending. I went in for help with a pattern and she did not help at all and made me feel stupid for asking.Friend had the same experience months ago too.Never going again.

A fantastic knitting shopped tucked just beyond the green. KNH is a welcoming spot - there’s a space to knit/create nestled amidst egads of yarn and the staff are kind. Absolutely worth a visit!

Such a cool place! Beautiful yarn, very nice needles, super cool bags for organization. The sweaters and stuff that have been made are gorgeous and the owner is very knowledgeable. One of the best yarn stores I’ve visited in the U.S.

A fantastic store if you want specialty yarns, organics, gadgets, but little in the moderate price range. It was worth the visit to see the original designs, and the advice was great.

The only unfriendly yarn shop I’ve ever been to. I’ve visited several times and always find the staff prickly and not helpful. Last time I wondered if the woman really worked there — it was as if my question annoyed her and interrupted her knitting. Next time I’ll make the drive to Webs before I go to Knit New Haven.

I love this place! The shop is beautiful and the yarn selection and colors always inspire me. I come in any time I'm in the area and the staff is always super accomodating and helpful. Came in this past Weds just to browse and the sales associate patiently helped me pick yarn for a hat project from the purlsoho website. I'm almost done and all of her suggestions were perfect!

Staff was rude, didn't stay to browse unfortunately. Selection looked nice. I don't know if I'll go back, I feel like customer service is a big deal to me.

Incredibly rude (I never write reviews but I had to here) I started browsing and overheard the owner very loudly publicly shame another customer over asking about synthetic yarn. Now I get it if you don't carry it and/or are opposed to it or whatever thats fine. But to berate and make someone feel bad for a question is not. If the owner had chosen to tell her politely its not carried or even educate on why she is opposed to synthetics it would have been fine but I had to walk right out. To embarrass someone in such a deliberate, public, holier than thou, and most importantly deeply classist way was just so upsetting. Never going back.

Very rude owner. Always has a condescending tone when you ask her for help or even when you first enter. If you’re not a pro knitter don’t come here.

Wonderful yarn store with a thoughtful selection and caring, helpful staff and owner. Can't say enough good.
