Eclectic and fun to rummage through. Although the owner has an evident proclivity for pre-screen toys, he mainly sells high-end furniture to order.

I found some really cool, pretty and unique decorative items at this store full of delightful finds. I really appreciated the owners passion for furniture and home decor and his thorough knowledge on everything in the store! And he was right to say that the beeswax candles I purchased there are the “rolls Royce of candles”; I liked them so much I’ll certainly be back to buy some more.

I have a cherry/walnut bed and cherry coffee table from Katahdin. It was a pleasure working with the owner and the furniture is gorgeous.

I bought a cherry table from Katahdin a few years back. It had a slight hardware problem. I happened to be in the store and mentioned it to the owner. He immediately offered to check out the problem. He actually came to my house on a weekend to fix it! When it wasn't completely fixable on site, he came back with a truck and took it to his shop. I can not say enough about this kind of service. He sent me no bill. What store owner returns to "make good" on an item that is already eight years old? I am very impressed with the way Katahdin Furniture does business.

I had terrific, personalized service from Katahdin furniture. I dealt with a Matthew and he was helpful, but non-intrusive, very pleasant, but no silly salesmanship. Just a good, honest man wise in the ways of furniture and caring for wood. Highly recommend.

We have bought many, many pieces of furniture from Katahdin over the years and I could not disagree more with the other reviewer. The owners have been extremely attentive, helping us find bargins, and on 2 occasions replacing for free (a) a bed board that had cracked (due to my child jumping on it!) and an entire bureau whose top began to slightly warp with age (several years after we bought it). We damaged the bed- they fixed for free! Our bureau was bought and paid for for at least 2 or 3 years and they still replaced it at no cost. No one else would ever do these things. BEST FURNITURE STORE IN the New Haven area. I like this store so much i am shopping here now even though i moved to philadelphia several years ago
