Store environment is okay, but what makes the overall experience subpar is the fact that staff always feel the need however, to watch over you when shopping which is quite uncomfortable, is definitely profiling and implying that you would steal which is completely unprofessional and unethical.
The staff really isn't welcoming by any means unless looking at you like a hawk is their intention in being helpful and relatable?!
If I'm being completely transparent the J.Crew brand is by far overrated and extremely expensive; not assessable to everyone and definitely not inclusive. You would have to take out a small loan just to purchase one garment let alone a full outfit which is truly unfortunate!
This store needs an overhaul - The staff, the overall setup of the store, not aesthetically pleasing at all, very sterile. The employees should be more welcoming and willing to assist without having preconceived notions, opinions, etc. STOP PROFILING and assuming people can't afford the items in the store. Poor customer service is by far their downfall!

I had a problem with my suit order, which was delayed because of UPS. Lucy was extremely helpful and solved the problem super quickly, offered a good alternative and was very transparent from the beginning to the end. Besides, she was of great service to try different suits, etc. Thanks!!

Amazing location, super convenient walk from downtown or Yale. Staff are always very helpful. Had a confusing situation with a gift card, the staff, Megan and Luis, didn't stop until they had it figured out.

Really awful experience. Walked in with my son, husband and I was hauling a wagon too. I was met with a question from the staff that implied we should t be there. Young staff is very rude. I ended up buying shirts because the store had what I needed but they made us feel like we didn’t belong…. Not family friendly for shopping.

How can you not like J. Crew? You walk in just to browse and you end up with a pair of olive green chinos you didn't even know you needed. How can you go wrong with a 50% mark down from a clearance price. Love their clothes even more so when on deep discount. The young ladies were really nIce and helpful. Great choices and definitely great deals if you look for them.

J.crew is a reasonable place for clothing for your girl and for yourself..what I like about this place is that they let you look around and never put pressure on you. They also have a good size fitting room and seating available for guests to relax on while you shop..I would recommend this place to anyone looking for that special look....

I like this J.Crew store in downtown New Haven. The store is a nice size, they carry men's and women's items. It is well stocked and presentable. I find that many other stores feel crammed. This one has a nice layout and is easy to navigate even on busy days. The employees are pleasant, and a few times they've offered to order me items they didn't have in stock. When in New Haven I recommend stopping at this J.Crew store.

The staff that work here are extremely rude and very unhelpful to patrons who DON'T look like them. I'm sure you can read between the lines. I've walked into this store plenty of times and only once have I been greeted and asked if I needed help with anything. I'd rather drive to Westfarms than visit this location which is around the corner from my home.
