The Olympic style and CrossFit lifting garage is closing down and turning into a rock climbing center. The remaining weight room in the back is much like a nice hotel fitness center. There’s not much of a gym left.

Could be a little more diligent about refilling the cleaning supplies on the floor of the gym but overall really happy with the facility!

Best gym in the New Haven area! Welcoming community and excellent facility - spin classes, CrossFit-like programming, powerlifting and Olympic lifting, yoga... they really cover a lot. Great staff that motivate you. Stay strong, my friends!

Gal that answered my call was very knowledgeable. Was glad I didn't have 2 listen 2 a computer. She had all the answers I needed abt rates & hours. Inquired if they had affordable private trainers. Heard rates & answer is YES.

OK gym - only one squat rack in the common area and the weekend hours leave a lot to be desired. Probably more desirable if you're willing to spend significant amount on xfit or personal training programs.

I love this gym - the facilities are clean, the instructors competent and upbeat, and the front-desk staff SO friendly. My only complaint is that they don't offer even more classes… because they’re just that good!

THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE... HANDS DOWN! The staff, the facility, the atmosphere is exactly what anyone needs when trying to decompress from a stressful day, or jump start a day. I am not from the area... I came here in between football camps for my son, and I will say that Whitney and staff were nothing less than amazing. If you are from the area, and work out anywhere else, I truly do not understand why. I fell in love at first sight, and am now jealous that this place isn't in my hometown! Thank you guys for the amazing experience... it was short, but extremely memorable! You all rock!

From the pleasant greeters as you walk in the door to the coaches and personal trainers to the athletes who cheer each other on, DAC is awesome!

This is an awesome gym! The staff here are super friendly and pleasant to interact with, and it's really not expensive at all for a nice gym that is always clean and well-kept. I just wish the weekend hours were expanded, and there was more than one squat rack in the fitness center. Other than that, this is a great gym!

This gym is really nice and is affordable for the fitness center ($40/month) which gives you access to the sauna, one class a week and free hand towels. It's pretty generous. The space itself is very inclusive and they take anti-discrimination seriously. Pre-Covid they weren't the most attentive to cleanliness and sometimes ran out of cleaner and paper towels in the gym but that changed during Covid and they are extremely safe and strict on that and mask wearing. Gendered locker rooms, and nice showers with expensive amenities (shampoo/soaps/air fresheners). They also have a refrigerator and a common working space which was a bit utilitarian (read: the seats are uncomfortable), but hey, it existed. Plenty of parking in front and behind the building (closer to Bear's Smokehouse, even though it's a bit of a walk). Staff is friendly, but you may find that many of the people mentioned in these reviews are no longer at DAC. I would come during off peak hours and would be able to mess with the rack (two) or treadmills if I was into that. They have also have two peloton bikes that use the LOOK Delta clips so if you have SPDs, sorry. They also have a TRX machine, but I think you need a trainer with that one. I didn't love it enough to renew my membership because the fitness center is a bit small and completely got mobbed during peak hours pre COVID, but I felt like it offered a better value than similar fitness center style clubs in the area.
