Is this the worst CVS? Probably.
Management does not appear to take pride in maintaining this store to the standard I would expect from a medical pharmacy. The windows are covered in grim and smudges, creating an unsightly blight on a prominent corner of New Haven.
The ground at the entrance to the store is filthy, the doors look worn and scratched, and the vestibule is often filled with boxes. These boxes have been sitting there for over a week, meanwhile the shelves in the store are empty.
The store appears understaffed and a line of 10+ customers forms quickly. There are no self-checkouts to help speed the process along, so a single customer needing assistance from the sole employee working the registers will hold up the line for a long time. The understaffed floor also means that pressing the "call" buttons for assistance with any one of the many, many products locked behind glass requires a great degree of patience and will often leave you waiting for 10+ minutes while the overworked employees attempt to deal with the line of customers.
This is not the experience and quality that I have come to expect from shopping at CVS. It is extremely disappointing that the only downtown drugstore in New Haven is not treated with the same attention, cleanliness, and service that suburban stores provide. It's a real shame.

If I could post zero stars, I would. This pharmacy is barely functioning! I am appalled by my experience. 3 hours after my medication was sent, the script was still not filled. When I called to inquire, I was put on hold for over 20 minutes! When I finally did get through the staff was mean and defensive, arguing that I should understand the difficulty they were having. Sorry, but my empathy runs out when I'm forced to go to the emergency department for intractable vomiting and dehydration because I can not get access to my medication ALL DAY long! This pharmacy should be ASHAMED!! Do Better!!!!

Refused to take my UPS Dropoff package because it was "too big"... there's no size limitations listed on their website that I could find.

The pharmacy does not answer their phone. I’ve called so many times throughout the week and at one point waited 30mins before I gave up. Try another pharmacy the one on Dixwell seems to be operating. It’s so frustrating.

Dreadful service in the pharmacy. Prescription was called in, insurance approved, and 24hrs later still no fill. Dr tried to help out and call directly, but CVS would not answer the Dr phones. When I went in I was instructed to wait in front of 3 staff who refused to recognize me, and they still could not fill. Threw my cvs card in the bin, done.

I can never get in a phone call with the pharmacy, my primary consistently ignores their refill requests, I go days if not weeks without chronic illness medication. The system is broken and their marketing material will always try to put up a front otherwise.

Called as the CVS app told me to. I was on hold for 23 minutes and someone answered and hung up. After reading some reviews it seems like this CVS didn't get trained on how to use the phone.
