I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Blue Mercury location at Yale, and I cannot express enough how wonderful my experience was, thanks to Patricia. From the moment I walked in, she was incredibly welcoming and attentive, immediately making me feel at ease. I even called beforehand and she was welcoming before even walking into the store!
Patricia's expertise and knowledge about the products were impressive; she took the time to understand my specific needs and preferences, ensuring that every recommendation was tailored just for me. It's clear that Patricia is passionate about her work and genuinely cares about the clients she serves. She goes above and beyond to ensure that every visit is a memorable one, and her dedication to excellence shines through in everything she does.
I sincerely hope that her contributions are recognized within the company because she is a true asset to Blue Mercury. Her talent, kindness, and professionalism deserve to be acknowledged, and I look forward to returning for her expert guidance in the future.

This place has beautiful cosmetics. Better than Sephora. But the customer service is horrendous. I've been three times to this store. The salespeople are either not interested in helping you, annoyed when you ask a question, or, treated very very hurriedly because they just want to close the store within the next 10 minutes. There's a particular salesperson that I have the misfortune of keeping bumping into who has terrible social and sales skills. She's rude, abrasive, and puts pressure on you to make decisions and hurry and pay, so that she can be done with her shift. She is dismissive of everything you say and contradicts you on everything you try to tell her. Constantly interrupts you, thinking she's right and you're wrong. I've worked in stores before, and even I know to put the customer first, and LISTEN to what they're saying. I even know to put in that extra effort if a customer comes in near closing time but is very interested in making a big purchase. At one point, I told her, "Listen, I'll come another day because you want to close." And she actually felt relieved. In addition, she's a bit colorblind. She kept putting on really dark orange makeup on my face and telling me that that was my color. When I asked for a lighter one, she said, "No, that's too light," and was actually horrified that I had the audacity to think that my skin was lighter than what she thought it was. Racism vibes. Never coming back here again. Awful, awful customer service.

This store has a bunch of products that I love, but the customer service…lackluster. When I walked in, I wasn’t greeted verbally or even acknowledged. My only interaction with an employee made me feel like I wasn’t welcome in the store. I greeted an employee and she didn’t look up from testing makeup on her hands. She didn’t offer to help me, which is fine, but she still didn’t look at me when I asked her for assistance. I cannot confirm that this was racially motivated, but my sister and I were the only black people in the store. The only other customer was white, and the sales associates were able to have an animated, cheerful conversation with her. Based on my intuition and other reviews citing discriminatory treatment from a blond woman with an attitude problem, I’d encourage other black people to stay away from shopping here. Others are welcome to avoid this store in solidarity!

Friendly, professional and personalized service !! Hannah was great, addressed my concerns and preferences, and took the time to explore options. Bottom line: I found the look I needed for a wedding I will be attending, and was introduced to some new products that I am so pleased with that I know I will continue to use them !! Will not hesitate to return to this store !!

Love the improvements in the store with both staff and products! Quentin is fantastic! Super knowledge about every single product I inquired about and had fantastic recommendations! Definitely suggest you giving the store another try if you were previously disappointed- make sure Quentin is working though ?!

I went in about a month ago to buy some standard skincare and was extremely happy with the customer service that I received from Quentin. Quentin was patient, attentive, and had great recommendations. I made sure that on my next makeup haul I would make my way down to blue mercury because I was so pleased with the service (much better than some of the other makeup stores I’ve been to lately). And sure enough I was please yet again, I was lucky enough to be helped by Quentin again. I left with the perfect shade of foundation and some amazing new makeup that I can’t wait to try on :). Quentin is amazing and such a great person to pick out skincare and makeup with.

Quentin provided me with a very satisfying service. He listens carefully to my needs and finds the products I need. He is very knowledgeable about the facial care products offered and provides easy-to-understand information. The Blueberry shop has professional and good products, so it was a fun day to buy them!

I shop at Blue Mercury in New Haven all the time. I find the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Quentin usually helps me and is able to suggest products that work for me. I really like the Blue Mercury M-31 line.
