The happiest place in the world! My child has grown leaps and bounds and I attribute that entirely to how loved and safe he feels. Thank you teachers!!!

I would describe myself as an "anxious parent." When looking for a preschool for my son I visited bunch of different schools in the area! Bethesda was the last one I went too. As soon as I walked in I was hooked. I have to give a lot of the credit to the director Sara. She is very warm and understanding, she listened to all my concerns and made me very very comfortable. The classroom feels like home! The best part is they have an in door climber room with a slide that is my sons favorite!I was most attracted to the shorter schedule as most nursery schools in the area do not offer anymore. 8:15 Am -1:00pm as well as later hours. It was very important to me to find a school that did not a have a big turn around with teachers. Bethesda teachers have all been there longer the 5 years, some more then 15 years!Good communication is very important to me, if my son has a hard morning and I want to call just to check in I know that I can and they get back to be quickly and often with a photo of him elbows deep in some sort of project.Bethesda becomes a second home for your child. My son talks about his teachers at home all the time. He wants to go to school in the morning. I feel so happy knowing I found the perfect place for my son to spend his first years of school!

I sent my first child here for her first structured preschool program during the COVID pandemic. To say I was nervous is an understatement. The director, Sara, answered every question I had and reassured me that school wouldn’t feel too scary and sterile for my 3 year old. The safety and warmth of the director trickles down throughout the staff. They worked so hard to make the past year as fun and normal as possible for our 3-5 year olds. I also appreciated the flexible scheduling and how tuition was fair for the area. Bethesda now feels like a family. Thank you Bethesda teachers!!!

We can’t speak highly enough of Bethesda and the community that surrounds it. I was having anxiety about sending my daughter off to preschool rather than teaching her from home a bit longer, but as soon as Bethesda was referred to me by a fellow Bethesda mom; we booked a tour. Needless to say, as soon as Sara greeted us and brought us into the classroom, I think we all knew it was going to be the perfect fit for our daughter. The teachers are by far the most incredible teachers, and more importantly I feel safe and secure knowing that my daughter is in their hands. The growth I’ve seen in less than 6 months has been outstanding ; both cognitively and socially. We love Bethesda. We never had to look anywhere else.

Our daughter thrived in Bethesda. Between the teachers that are amazing, and a curriculum perfect for energetic preschoolers, we couldn’t have wished for a better place. The playground is wonderful, the summer program is super fun, and there are so many great community events throughout the year like their Spring Fair. I could go on and on about how great this school and their teachers are. Truly the best.

My son is very happy at Bethesda. I feel very confident my child is safe and well taken care of here. He had grown and learned so much from the 2 years he’s attended Bethesda. The teachers are very attentive and nurturing. All I have are positive words to say about our experience at BNS.

My 3 children went to BNS - each attending for 3 years - ages 3/4/5. We started our BNS experience when we living in East Rock. Within a year we moved out to North Madison. We thought about putting her into a preschool program near our new home, and we looked extensively at the local options - nothing came close to the program offered by BNS - so we continued to make the 25 minute drive for the next 7 years so that each of our children could benefit from the dedicated educators, thoughtful curriculum, robust community and foundational experience. Our kids each started at 2 days a week and progressed to more full-time as they grew. We appreciated this flexibility as it gave us the ability to adapt to the child's readiness for a "school" experience.

You know the minute you show up for an open house that this school is amazing. You keep learning that each day you go and pick up your kid and see how happy they, teachers, and the other students are. But what is most surprising is how much these things are forever true day in and day out, no matter the circumstances and travails the community experiences. Were it possible, this review would have 1,000 stars.

I cannot say enough great things about this school! My oldest came out of his shell all in part of the amazing staff here! They are the most caring and supportive teachers. The school is so flexible with the days my kids attend. Their curriculum supports their curiosity and development in a way that allows them to have fun while fostering their excitement towards learning. I feel privileged that my kids have had a home at Bethesda.

Hands down, the BEST preschool in New Haven. From the nurturing teachers who have been there for literally decades, to the curriculum and emphasis on learning through play. The kids are outside every day, and they have so many different spaces indoors to play in. A true gem. The flexibility they offer for hours makes it affordable too! No need to commit to a fulltime program if you don't need it.

Two magical things happened while my 3 yr old was at summer camp:Son: “I want to go to bed early so I‘m not late for camp tomorrow.”Son: “Is it the weekday?”(As opposed to always asking if it’s the weekend...he finally LOVED Mon-Fri!)
