It's a shame to serve such quality coffee and drinks only in to go packaging. $14 for a croissant and a cappuccino and you have to eat it out of a paper bag at an unclean table. "Everything is served to go and you eat wherever you like" they said.Good products, unfortunately degraded by their service. Put it on a plate. We don't want to drink nice coffee out of plastic lined paper cups

This is a nice concept:Book store with a coffee shop, a serious book store. Some of the stuff are premade, so adjust your expectations.Their bakery’s portions are big, but being a usual France traveler, it’s just OK. Good for feeding hungry students.Coffee, oh coffees. It’s ok for New Haven standard, I guess. If not because the gentleman cooked a nice corque monsieur for, I would probably give them 3 stars.

Had an off putting vegan banh mi today that was a total waste of money. I like the book selection but food was a let down and the cafe was unexpectedly loud.

The girl behind the cashier left her shift and went one step ahead of me to the door. I had both hands full with stuffs. She didn’t even care just went straight out without holding the door. I was hit hard by the god damn door with my coffee. If you weren’t able to learn the social manner, then at least let me go first. This is beyond rude. I go here almost on a daily basis and this incident makes me decide never to spend a single dollar here again.

I always stop by here when near Yale. Amazing book selection, awesome gift ideas, great cafe (although often long lines). Love this place.

I agree with many other customers, the staff is absolutely rude. We came in asking if they had bottled water, the girl behind the counter then whispers to the guy working with her and mimics my friend and they start smiling and right when we paid for the water she immediately went back on her phone. Horrible service.

Super cute store! Wasn’t the best customer service, but their huge croissant and coffee were both really good! Love that it is connected to a bookstore. Super cozy!

Purchased chia seed pudding and realized it was moldy by the time I got back to work. Unbelievably, this is the second time I’ve purchased moldy chia seed pudding from Atticus… the first was at the Orange St location about a year ago. I called to let them know and request a refund. They were unable to find my purchase, even though it had only been about 30 minutes, and apparently could not look it up using my credit card number. I was told they would do more research and call me back but was never contacted. Gross and frustrating waste of $8.

Cute and cozy bookstore cafe! Unfortunately it was quite crowded when I went so I had to take food to go. I had the daily vegetable quiche which had a delicious rich filling with mushrooms, kale(?), cheese, and tomato -- this went perfectly with the bright and acidic salad. I will echo that while the quiche crust was buttery and tasty, it was a bit too thick and underdone.

Easy to preorder, great selection, fresh, delicious, fast, and you can pick up a bottle of wine or a greeting card.

Stumbled on this adorable bookstore / cafe / bar while on a day trip to New Haven and looking for a place to park my laptop and send off some emails. This is an adorable progressive bookstore right outside Yale's campus, with ample seating for small bites and coffee. It appears they serve some beer and wine as well. I ordered a mushroom danish and black coffee. The coffee was solid. The danish was superb. The ambiance was reasonably quiet. There is an array of small tables and some bar seating surrounding the kitchen. Lots of table space for working Extra shoutout to their kind service staff, who watched my laptop while I went to the restroom. Metered is available on the street outside the shop.

I came here with my friend to browse on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty packed inside, especially at the cafe. They have a fairly wide selection of books, plus many that are discounted. They also have stationary, games, and little trinkets. It would have been hard not to spend money here!
