Today my husband and I stop in the American Diamond Exchange to have his wedding band resized. Keep in mind I purchased the $6,000.00 wedding band from here for my husband. (And Have spent over $10,000 over the year at this store).There was a women who walked into the store with us and began to help us. I explained to her that we purchased the ring from here and we would like to have it resized. She started the sizing process by having my husband try on different bands. All of a sudden this gentlemen comes over, does not introduce himself and starts talking to the women who was helping us. I don't know who he is, he could have been their dog walker for all I know. Then he walks away into the backroom, in haste trying on the different sizing bands I notice that my husband band was missing from the counter, because their was no reason for it to leave our sight without my permission. I asked where is my ring??? The gentlemen is walking out from the back room and says: I have it. I said nicely...I'm not really comfortable with someone taking my diamonds out of my sight. This man lost his mind and told me...I told you I was taking your ring. What do you think I'm going to do with your ring. I nicely explained that: You can't take my belongs without my permission. He replied... I don't want nothing from you, get out. I don't want your money, I'm the owner. My reply was I'm 61 years old and you don't get to speak to me like that!! He replied... I'm older than you. And, I said then your old enough to know better and by the way your customer service skills are awful. The bottom line is he's mad that his store is in a not so great part of town so he feels the need to demonstrate hood behavior.. (side note: Yes my husband got a tongue lashing in the car for not putting this jerk in his place) :-)

I went to American Diamond Exchange to purchase my wedding band and my husbands wedding band and we could not have had a better experience! I also got a necklace modified that Dave designed so beautifully, I get complements on it daily! David and Kathy were so friendly, warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable. They were extremely patient and so fun to talk to. I cannot recommend them enough for all of your jewelry needs!! They’re the best!

Worst jewelry store in Connecticut he uses fake stones he discolor your jewelry and won’t take responsibility to fix it I honestly think he’s Racist towards black and Hispanic people but don’t get it twisted he’ll still take your money and he’ll definitely overcharge you

I have never encountered a business owner as obnoxious and aggressive as the owner of American Diamond Exchange. The staff there have always been courteous and professional. In looking at the reviews, it appears that people who dealt with Ally (or some other associate) were happy and those who dealt with the owner had unpleasant experiences... today I had my first contact with the owner. He should not be anywhere near customers. He has a rude and abusive demeanor, topped off with unreasonable policies, and his prices for simple repairs seem a bit high. I had forgotten my claim ticket when I went to pick up some items that I had left there for minor repairs. He took my ID, I thought just to verify ownership of the items. Instead he made a copy of my driver's license without telling me first. I told him that seemed a bit presumptuous and "kind of crazy" to copy people's driver's licenses without asking permission. I got my ID and the copy back and came back with my claim ticket later that day. While a nice professional lady was helping me, I told her that I would like to speak with the owner about his policy after he finished with another customer. I was explaining to her that my bank card and my I.D. had the same information as the claim ticket I had to retrieve, (not to mention that I had detailed knowledge of the items), and they should have been sufficient for me to claim my items. I saw no reason to copy my license or require the ticket and was seeking an explanation. The owner over heard this conversation and started berating me in a loud aggressive manner from across the room, while he was dealing with another customer. Then another customer ( that had no involvement and no one was talking to) who was speaking with an entirely different sales person joined the owner's argument at me. That person made some vaguely threatening comments and stared me down for the 5 minutes or so that it took the sales person helping me to finish. None of he staff asked him to stop. I never raised my voice or said anything disrespectful to anyone at any time. The owner threatened to show the security camera video to the police. This story is so bizarre it probably sounds made up; I hope he does involve the police so that I can get a copy of it to post. As I was leaving the owner told me to never come back to his store. I told him not to worry about that, it would never happen. There's plenty of other jewelry stores. I suggest everyone stay away from this one.

For a company that runs on customer basis wow I have never been treated so disrespectfully. I checked online as to what time this place opens ..it says 1130. I showed up a few minutes early and waited and when the owner opened the door he was so abrupt and abrasive it was offputting. I literally asked him are you in a rush because if so I don't need to be here and he showed me the door. He said they didn't open until 12 I wonder why you opened the door?! Wow such disrespect.

I dropped my antique ring at the Diamond Exchange that was handed down to me from my great-great-grandmother. The ring split at the bottomin so I brought it in to have it repaired. I left the ring with a young woman named Allie who said that she would order the piece to insert into the ring. When I got the ring back, it was two sizes to small. I had to pay for a ring repair that would not even fit on my pinky finger must less my ring finger. She would not give me my ring unless I paid for it. I had to take the ring to another Jeweler, I spent more money to add a piece in the ring so that it would fit. Shame on them, Beware, NEVER AGAIN!!!

The best place to buy jewelry in CT. It’s been almost a year since I’ve made a purchase there and the gold piece of jewelry I bought is still looking like the day I bought it. When I walked in for the first time it was welcoming. The lighting was perfect and it shined off of all the amazing jewelry they had and it wasn’t a bright lighting, it was a fine lighting that was perfect for the environment. I was then greeted by Kathleen who was able to help me with my purchase. I told her what I was looking for and what I wanted. She was able to have a custom piece made for me. Once I agreed that it was indeed what I wanted, I put down a deposit and she said she would call in about 2-3 weeks when it was ready to be picked up. Exactly 3 weeks later I received a call. When I arrived I was welcomed again by Kathleen and the owner, David. They presented me with the box and opened it and it was exactly what I wanted and expected. Everything turned out perfectly. David included a free polishing cloth and polish with my purchase which was very kind because I’m sure that goes for an extra charge. Once I finally had paid I walked out the door very happy and very satisfied with my purchase. They were able to help me and welcomed me the best out of the 3 other places I had been. I am very happy and will come back next time I need a piece of jewelry. It is an amazing place!

Their disregard for a talented and valuable employee during the pandemic by exposing her to Covid which she then contracted and was let go. This business didn’t deserve her, and therefore they don’t deserve your patronage.

We got my engagement ring and wedding bands at American Diamond Exchange. We were so impressed we their knowledge and love for their jobs! We couldn’t be happier with the final product! Definitely recommend everyone to go visit them!
