Such a charming shop. Shopping there is a very special event in and of itself. Lovely, attentive customer service in a delightful, lovely atmosphere.

A very cool eclectic store with plenty of decorative options. We loved how they had different rooms inspired by either holidays or seasons. We enjoyed looking at all of the interesting items they had. The ladies were very helpful and pointed us in the different directions.

Beautiful shop, quality products, but very nasty sales people. We have spent hundreds of dollars over the years at this gift shop, but no more. The other day I purchased a $25 Christmas ornament and asked for gift wrap. Instead of the usual box and beautiful wrapping, I was "told" that it didn't qualify for the normal gift wrapping "downstairs." I received a cheap ugly cellophane bag instead. There was no one in line for gift wrapping at the time. I was very disappointed in the older woman's attitude considering that we have recently purchased Herend and numerous Juliska gifts from them. In the past their personal customer service set them apart from the others, but obviously it no longer matters, so we will go elsewhere.

Rude older owner (long time ago) stole a catalogue from a salesperson to thwart another manufacturer. Unbelievably unprofessional. I'd never shop here.

terrible, overpriced, nasty long time older owner (stole a brochure from a salesperson on purpose, mean). Ridiculous behavior. I will never shop here.

What a great store. Beautiful display, nice holiday decor. Carry high end decor from Germany. Must go and see. Very friendly staff. So glad to have this store in New Canaan.

We would have been lost in our wedding planning process without the Whitney Shop! Karen and Carol helped us design our save the dates, rehearsal dinner invites, wedding invite suites, menus, custom napkins, and day of programs. All were within the look we wanted, and we were even able to add cute motifs like a moose to our menu for our mountain themed big day. Karen also worked brilliantly with our calligrapher, who was also able to custom design a logo for the wedding, and send to Karen in a digital file. Karen took the file and was able to get a custom water color map from our artist beautifully printed onto part of our invite suite, and our logo on some napkins for the cocktail party portion of the night. In addition, Karen and Christina and Peggy were able to help us with our dream registry. From the lifelong fine china we now have, to our Simon Pearce items, everything is gorgeous. In addition, we found that the shop offered some more reasonably priced items for our friends our age who may not be at the point of affording a china gift, but wanted to get us something special like a beautiful water pitcher, or a serving tray decorated with skis! We appreciated the online aspect of the registry, since we live in UT and were monitoring from afar, but we also loved being able to pop in the shop when back east and being treated so well by a second generation, family business in the town of New Canaan. We are customers for life and are enjoying following the shop on their new instagram account :)

Sure they have some very nice (and overly expensive) stuff. But the place is so stuffy and perhaps the darn SNOBBIEST place I've ever entered in my life!
