Wonderful location with the best staff ever! Sam, Mai, Kathleen, Beverly, Tiffany, Jessica, Susan, Mel are the associates I've worked with throughout my many recent visits at this store and they are always incredible and eager to help. Wether I am looking for a gift or something for myself they are always super helpful at helping me find the right size showing me all the color options and ordering anything they may not have in store at the moment to have it shipped to me. These associates are always super warm and welcoming and make my day every time I visit. Truly one of my favorite locations from all the J.Crew Stores in New England. If you stop by ask for one of these associates and you are sure to have the best customer service experience ever!

Ive never felt more judged and unwelcome coming into this J. Crew location. I was looked over by the manager and who was loud and unnecessarily angry. I’m not sure if she was having a bad day, but she clearly brought it into work with her

In my experience, if I'm not ignored completely at this location, the employees will make an effort to make me feel as unwelcomed and uncomfortable as possible. For their lack of customer service skills and completely off putting attitude, this is where I bring any of the items I need to return here from other locations or online.

I asked the sales person if they had a specific item, and she told me to walk downstairs to look myself because she didn't know. When I got back to the main level, she asked me if I had found it. Note I am in my 60s. Call me old-fashioned but generally if I ask a sales person about an item, I expect them to at least offer to help with the legwork. Never underestimate the power of customer service. In an era of online purchasing, every sales person in the store should seize the opportunity to make a positive impact for the brand.

I ordered a shirt from this Elm Street J. Crew in Connecticut via phone and was told that the item was in stock and would be shipped to me in New York in three to five business days. After two weeks I received a credit to my account with no explanation "Susie" that she would get back to me the following week after her "investigation". No response for an additional week so I called again and was told by Susie that the shipment was denied acceptance by my mail carrier. This situation has never happened in the past. When I called again to re-order the shirt I was told it was out-of-stock. Apologies were quite lame as to why this situation had occurred and I will never do business with J. Crew again. I believe with further investigation it would be found that the item was never shipped and it all was completely falsified. Not contacting a customer regarding an items' delivery is 101 for retail merchandising. Please be careful when dealing with this store!

I've been shopping at this store for years and consider it the best in Connecticut; bar none! I always get a great advice and find the staff goes out of their way to help me. Simply put, the service is superb; for example, yesterday I returned jeans that I bought for my husband online (bad fit). When I made the online purchase, I was not aware that the return had to be mailed to the factory. Margret offered to mail the items from the store which was a very pleasant surprise and saved me a lot of driving time. Keep up the good work!

J. Crew on Elm Street in New Canaan is an excellent boutique with the benefits of nationwide merchandise and services including an online store. J.Crew's online store offers special sales not available at your local shop. There are new Internet only specials each day. The local J. Crew store can order any online item for you free of shipping charges. Your merchandise is at your home or place of business within a couple of days. Shopping at J. Crew is fun and the prices are reasonable. I've never seen an item in store or on the Internet that's overpriced and sales are abundant. One of the best reasons for shopping at J. Crew locally is the attention to detail and friendly attentive service that awaits you as you shop the latest fashion. The clothing is always stylish while remaining classic. J. Crew downtown New Canaan is a wonderful local store with distinctive apparel often designed exclusively for this nationwide clothing store. You'll find that the merchandise and services exceed your expectations. Enjoy this store.
