Friendly and courteous staff. Let us try out a few pieces of furniture without making us feel pressured. Beautiful quality pieces as well. Very charming store

I’ve bought numerous items from this store over the years, despite enduring such attitude from the salespeople almost every time . I decided to go today to buy a new set of everyday water glasses and I remarked to my spouse before going, “I hope they don’t give me a hard time for bringing the baby with me.” Well, incredibly enough, I walked into the store with my son in a travel stroller, and one of the salespeople stopped me (literally stood in front of me, blocking my way) within 3 feet of the door. She babbled about there not being enough room to get around the corners of the store and I asked her what she wanted me to do and her response was to repeat the same thing several times. I walked out and vowed never to go in again. I’ve learned my lesson.

I was recently in the store and had my second negative experience with the owner. The first time was during COVID when I picked up masks that I ordered. I gave the benefit of the doubt then because let's face it, there was a lot of unknown and stress during that time, especially for small business owners. However, this week I was treated with the utmost rudeness. I love shopping locally and supporting the businesses in my town, but I will no longer shop here as the only experiences I have had were unwelcoming.

A super cute store with lots to check out. Pricing is premium, it so is the quality.Unique finds you won’t see anywhere else, and some of the nicest staff around. We’ll be back for sure.

The people behind the counter need an attitude adjustment, pronto! Bordering on the rude side. And their gift wrapping needs much improvement and to be season appropriate. I bought a Christmas gift after all, not an ordinary gift. The paper is gray with white polkadots.
If you can get past their attitude, all of the ladies there, and hyper-inflated prices, then it’s a nice shop for gifts and homeware.
Part of a brick and mortar shop “charm”, is the customer service they provide. Well if that’s missing then….
Otherwise there’s always online shopping for most of everything they sell and I don’t have to deal with the non warranted NYC type attitude!

Overpriced. Awful customer service. Cheaper to buy online via Amazon.Looked around the store recently. Salesperson ignored me. Asked a question to the elder woman behind counter. Woman ignored me. Asked another individual after they assisted another customer and they also completely ignored me. Finally got someone’s attention after 20 minutes. Salesperson couldn’t answer me because they didn’t know the answer.Ok, maybe not Amazon.com for equally comparable items. One does not have to get nice, overpriced home goods from a place with atrocious customer service.

Nice store with very beautiful things. Unfortunately, owner is rude and extremely unpleasant. Will never go back. I don’t recommend.

The owner of this store is extremely rude despite the fact that I have purchased quite a few things there in the past from some of their kinder sales associates. No more though. On Christmas Eve I stopped in for a few last minute gifts and upon simply inquiring about a few of their different platters, just to make sure I was considering all the various color options, I heard the sales person say rather loudly to the associate behind the counter that “this lady was driving her crazy.” I was flabbergasted as all I had done was ask about some of her merchandise. I promptly left the store and then decided that perhaps the manager would like to know how I was treated. I was even more shocked to find out she was indeed the owner. Her excuse was “she was just kidding” and that it was Xmas eve afternoon, implying that she was tired. Well shut the store then if you can’t refrain from treating your clients rudely. It’s too bad as they have nice things but there are other great places nearby like The Cottage and The Huntress that also have beautiful things and lovely people helping. As I’ve mentioned my experience at Design Solutions to quite a few of my friends, I have learned that the owner indeed has this reputation of being rude and unfriendly, like she is doing you a favor to let you shop there. my experience there apparently isn’t so unique.

Went to DS with my husband and two young children (4y and 1.5y) to buy holiday gifts. My husband was right next to my (very well behaved) 4 year old, while I held the baby in my arms. I barely got through the door before the woman working at the store hurried over to tell me the store is not child proofed. It made me feel super uncomfortable. My children were not touching things or running around. My husband and I were responsible for them and are also fully aware of the implications if something were to break. However, the woman working at the store made us feel very unwelcomed. This was my first visit to DS and was also my last. Unfortunate, as I do see the importance in shopping at small businesses.

Fun selection of awesome quality products. They carry recycled outdoor rugged rugs of all sizes and colors. Love all the cookbooks and amazing selection of neat books. Confused about if all the staff is there to help or just restock the shelves. Didn’t feel like I got the best service when I was there but maybe it was an off day. Still love a walk through.

I've shopped here multiple times recently and never experienced any of the bad experience on some of the older reviews here, so perhaps there's been some changes - staff were both extremely friendly each time I've been. The store is beautifully presented and always has something unique that I've not seen anywhere else. Products are on the expensive side, but high quality, non-chain store stuff usually is.
