She is fantastic always attentive and caring! She takes the time to listen and address all of our concerns. We feel confident and well taken care of every time we visit. Highly recommend her as a pediatrician!

To start, I was new to this country, I chose Dr. Souza because she is also Brazilian and speaks Portuguese. Unfortunately, my experience with her was disappointing from the very beginning. When my son was a baby, she didn’t support breastfeeding. She made comments like, “Your milk is not enough,” and, “Breast milk at night causes cavities.” I even showed her scientific information from the WHO, but the most hurtful comment was when she suggested my husband might leave me because I always smelled like milk.
Despite these red flags, I didn’t switch doctors. The language barrier was a factor, and as a new mom without support, dealing with postpartum exhaustion, I wasn’t thinking clearly. When my son was around 15 months old and not yet speaking, I expressed my concerns, but again, she dismissed my feelings. A few months later, I requested an evaluation with Birth to Three, and he was diagnosed with autism.
During this time, my son would hit his head against the floor when he was upset. Dr. Souza, a mother of two herself, said to me, “He may never talk, get used to it. Just take all the furniture out of his room, close the door, and leave him to hit his head until he gets over it.”
That was the last straw for me, and of course, I never went back. I hope she has changed.
Today, my son speaks three languages, is at the top of his class, has been reading since he was four, and we’re very happy with our current pediatrician. My experience with Dr. Souza motivated me to go back to school and learn English, so I would never have to go through something like that again.

It feels like visiting our extended family every time we visit. We just love Dr Sousa, she’s caring, knowledgeable, and really cares about her patients wellness. Even though we moved an hour away we still drive to see her. She the best.
