Came in at 3:48 and they told me they are closed, (they close at 4:00pm) just because they didn’t want to help me look for a hose for the washer, not great service, and very expensive ! ??????

This place is a little gem, but I didn’t know that this place is super honest! I went In to grab some stuff in a rush. I used the bathroom and dropped an envelope full of money on the floor. I noticed it was gone an hour later and rushed back hoping it would still be there. When I walked in they told me don’t run to the bathroom and went behind the desk to reveal the envelope. They confirmed how much money was in it with me and then handed it over! One of the employees turned it in! God is good people! There are still beautiful people in this world! Thank you Rutkowski hardware!!

Had a great experience replacing an old faucet that was pretty rusted and hard to do. Jose did an excellent job and very fast at a great price. I recommend this place to anyone who needs any plumbing done.

This is a great, family owned hardware and paint store. In need of fasteners, I called first to make sure they had what I was looking for. The woman I spoke to was very nice, but knowledgeable too.Being told they had the fasteners, I headed right over. Upon arrival, I realized there was a little bit of a mix up, however, they had a reasonable substitute available and I prefer to give my business to this small business in lieu of a big box chain store.If we don't support these businesses, there will be none left, and we will have nobody to blame but ourselves.As for prices, this place is right in line with the big corporate stores.The store is clean, well organized, and well staffed. If you are in New Britain or the surrounding area and in need of items found in a hardware/paint store, I encourage you to give this place a try.I found my visit refreshing. Being able to talk to a person as the phone is answered; Priceless!Thanks Rutkowski's!!

Excellent and friendly service. Had a new water heater installed. Had the old one taken out and new one installed within an hour, at a reasonable price. Highly recommend these guys.
