There is absolutely no valid reason for Stop and Shop to continue to gouge it's customers with their inflated egg prices. Wholesale egg prices tanked two months ago . Yet SS hangs in there . Pathetic glaring greed .

I went there yesterday and to pick up some things I needed and went to pick up some sliced cheese and lunch meat it was all expired so I will be shopping somewhere else.

We have had Peopod delivery for two years now and it's the best thing we've ever done. No more lugging groceries in the bad weather. You can add to your list everyday. So easy and convenient. The delivery guys are so very nice, clean, respectful and very hard workers. The shoppers pick out the best cuts of meat and the freshest produce. We've never had a problem with the food they pick out. The delivery fee is very reasonable too.

I live here because I know where everything is located. They even have a robot that cleans the spills. Come see for yourself, it's amazing. The staff there work hard to please and no exaggeration this is a 10 star store. Oh, their customer service desk makes it happen: pay bills, western union and lottery..they do it all with ease.

Was at tsore on 3/9 at 3- Cakes all old and with cracks in them . Bakery need a facelift and cleaning , items are not fresh - . Dry ricotta only happens after being in a case a few days.

CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!!. ALWAYS!!!. I started doing it recently... I found errors - 8 out of 10 shopping trips - here at the Middletown location. WOW...scamming big time!!!. Think of how much this store makes - if customers are overcharged or not given sale discount as advertised at checkout- and the customer does not catch it. That adds up to big money in one years time for this store and the Stop and Shop stock holders, owners, and company big wigs!!!. My receipt mistakes ranged from $3 dollars up to almost $10 dollars!!!. Hmnnnn....makes one wonder!. I now go to Aldis...yes, its less to choose from, but they have never tried to scam me!.

There is one reason I keep coming here - it is three minutes drive from my house. That is where my enjoyment of this supermarket ends. For me, shopping here is truly a displeasure. The stocking is inconsistent so I can never rely on being able to get the products I come in for. This is particularly true for buttermilk which I buy weekly. Yes, it is a specialty item but the store is plenty large enough to keep it in stock and perhaps carry more than the one expensive option offered. In terms of the other selection, it is hard to find unusual ingredients and yet there does often seem to be a decent selection of tropical fruit. The bakery has very mediocre bakes and an average selection at best. There is nothing truly horrifying; I mean to say the place is relatively clean, no vermin, nothing that could actually get me to stop being lazy and go somewhere I enjoy shopping. This particular branch is pretty basic and low-tech. Finally, the staff and employees are a mixed batch that kind of breaks down to be 25% spiteful, 50% ambivalent, and 25% pleasant. If you have better options or more motivation, head elsewhere.

The help when available is often just uninterested in helping you. Almost always lines at registers. The self checkout is actually pretty user friendly though and they do often have someone to help you there so that is why they get a second star. Anyway, it is the closest and easy to access supermarket and our local town market is actually dirtier and has limited selections and has gone down hill this past year. (River Valley Provisions is decent but is actually further for us). So many of us are in a way stuck with this place and this store knows it and provides prices and service accordingly. One final thing. This stop and shop card thing - jeeze why not make the " I have no card give me the discount anyway" choice the default choice.
