My Biggest mistake was not reading the reviews first.
I've been speaking to a sales associate about a car since Wednesday. I asked if anything is needed to secure the car he said no.
I was scheduled to come down today/sat. To complete the purchase but because I look for I was away. I did the application the night before.
this morning, the sales associate told me to wait on getting the approval before I come down and then he tells me the car sold and tries to put me in an alternate option with a different trim level.
I've explained to him many times i work at a dealership.
I know how the process goes when selling a car. He knew the other car was being purchased and still decided to run my credit.
When i asked the sales associate to leave a deposit to hold the vehicle because I’ve explained to him that I work at a car dealership and I know that’s what secure is the vehicle he told me he spoke to his manager, and I did not need to do that and not to worry about it.
I should of known something was wrong by that
this place is terrible and I do not recommend

Very unprofessional, just spoke with Edwin an 3 hour earlier to check on the vehicle, after I drove 45 minutes, he tells me the car was sold this morning. Please triple check with this Dealer before you drive all the way here to see a car. Very unprofessional Dealer.

Their lending company is predatory. They kept trying to push my down payment higher. It started at 8000, then it was 10,000 and finally 11,00. This, along with high payments. They did nothing to try to assist or make the deal happen. I have never left a dealership feeling more like they were just out to exploit their customers. Avoid at all costs!

BEWARE-had a car that blew up due to mechanical error they admit to but they refuse to take responsibility even though everyone says they are responsible. had the car a month. picture of what they sold me. please be careful as this was a safety checked car. Insurance does not cover mechanical errors. We are out 40k on a car we had for 30 days!!! Blasius will not honor their warranty or Ct used car law. Their idea of help was telling us in writing to sue someone else ( the dealership they bought the car from). well thats not how it works- we bought the car form YOU. Not to mention my husband could of died.
PLEASE be careful with this dealership.
from blasius As part of our investigation, we obtained service records from both Tasca Ford and Stevens Ford and learned the following. The original transmission repair work performed by Tasca did not include the necessary bolts that were required to replace original factory “one time use” bolts in the transmission. This may certainly have caused a problem with the proper operation of the transmission.
but you blasius sold the car with a 60 point inspection. blasius well sell you a death box! the. refuse to give you your money back

My previous experience with used car salespeople was difficult -to put it diplomatically- so when the time came for another car, I was really anxious about the whole process.
I knew the car I wanted and didn’t care about color, so I reached out to six or seven dealerships that had the make/model/year I was looking for and Blasius of Middletown, while amongst the furthest distance from me, was the first to reach out with a human (i.e. not an automated response) and not only that, once I sent them follow up questions, they responded promptly and clearly … until that moment, literally every other dealership avoided answering my basic questions and just wanted to get me into the dealership … so I set up an appointment with Dave in Middletown and hoped for the best.
The dealership was easy to find, and as soon as I arrived, the staff took notice and were quick to acquaint me with Dave. Every aspect of this experience was pretty much the opposite of I had dealt with in the past, there was no beating-around-the-bush, Dave respected my time and vehicle choice, there was no up-selling and he got me right to the car with a set of keys. After the test drive we talked numbers, and that process was painless and transparent, again, the polar opposite of my previous used car dealings. Dave was patient with me and gave me all the time I needed to research on my laptop and crunch numbers, and we pretty quickly got to a place that worked for both of us, chiefly because the car was already at a price that I knew to be very fair, so we weren’t starting from opposite ends of a spectrum. Dave was quick to listen to and address my needs and concerns and it wasn’t long before we shook hands and I was sent to their in-house finance dept.
I forget the name of the finance guy, but he was cut from the same cloth as Dave; he was patient while I looked over everything, was knowledgable and able to answer my questions about the paperwork in a clear way, he was transparent, to-the-point, and also respected my time (and budget).
From the time I arrived to the time I had keys-in-hand took about 3 hours, much of that time taken up my be checking out the car and combing over the financials to be comfortable that everything was kosher.
I 100% recommend this dealership. No stress, no games. Great, respectable staff that are friendly, knowledgable and able to clearly answer questions and efficiently manage their time so as to not waste yours; the place is easy to find, and if you’re gonna kick around for a while and consider various vehicles or other options, there lots of nearby places to grab a bite or a pint and give yourself sometime to mull options over.
If anything about this opinion changes in the future, I’ll be sure to update…. But if this sentence is still how this review ends, then you should strongly consider getting your next car from Blasius of Middletown.

I've had better customer service experiences at MCDONALDS than here. I've never had a dealership not be willing to stay a little later to make something work. Owner of the account don't even bother to respond to try and save face.

We bought a used car from this dealership a few weeks ago and everything seemed great from the start. Edwin took a lot of time to help us out and to get us into a car as quickly as possible.
Within 48 hours of buying the car, and less than 200 miles later, we had the check engine light come on. Definitely seems like it was cleared in hopes of it not being a problem for them to worry about since they sold it “as is”
When I took it to a local dealership, they corrected the issue and did a full inspection revealing that Blasius didn’t even perform an oil change on the car before selling it to us Ave that’s the oil was BLACK. According to the salesman who helped us, they had the car at the lot for about 2 months so there was plenty of time for them to do one. You would think that after dropping thousands of dollars for a down payment they could perform a simple oil change and not lose on too much profit. Thankfully that was the biggest issue and it has been resolved by a third party. Just very frustrating to be sold a car and immediately have problems that shouldn’t have existed in the first place.
We were also contacted by a salesman trying to get us to buy a warranty once they were notified of the check engine light. When I told him it was in the shop already getting fixed, I was told they would call me back the following day to check in. That never happened.
The car has been okay since then but it just seemed very shady for those things to have happened.
Again, Edwin was great but overall I wouldn’t recommend going here to buy a car unless it’s your only option. They do have good financing available and are relatively transparent compared to other dealers that we looked at.

Bought our Pacifica about a month ago and we are so pleased with it! We needed a new family car quickly and thankfully we were able to get it from here within two days of contacting this dealership. It was priced very competitively as well. We are so glad we purchased it from here.

Had a great experience purchasing an automobile from Blasuis of Middletown! I enjoyed working with Edwin, he was extremely professional and knowledge about the vehicle I bought, and the entire process was perfect and stress free….they were even able to pass along a lower interest rate the day I went to pick up my car, which saved me even more money. It was also a pleasure working with Jessica regarding a minor issue under warranty which she quickly helped me resolve with my local dealership. Overall a GREAT experience!

They sold me a car with a lot of problems like the window was not working properly, the headlight was not working after I left the dealership and when I called they told me “oh is just a headlight” is about my safety too but they just care about your money and nothing else, do not go to this place save your time and money!
