I live in the apartments right beside this store and will be driving to buy my bar needs from another store. The convenience of distance is outweighed by the customer service. I just left Village Liquor. The woman at the counter was less than amiable, helpful, or courteous. She made finding what I wanted difficult ... she was actually a hurdle to me finding an item to purchase. She was too busy talking on the phone and rolled her eyes as she finished ringing us up. I went to the store in search of 100% agave tequila. It has medicinal gut properties, like prebiotics and helps with digestion. I am recovering my gut health and bacteria from C-Diff and some other issues. I recently learned tequila can help and it has to be 100% agave. I am not sure which brands I like yet so did not want to spend the money on a full bottle until I find the brand flavors I prefer... The store keeps smaller bottles behind the counter. So, I said we were looking for 100% agave tequilas and if she wouldn't mind pulling down the ones that were or pointing them out. She seemed like this was impossible and then turned her back and continued a phone call. It actually is impossible for a customer to read the small writing on a label stating 100% agave from the other side of the counter. But she was unwilling to look and read herself, maybe she cannot, but still pulling down a few bottles so I could look would have been helpful. Instead it was a very unpleasant experience and I just asked to see two bottles to check and just picked one because, well, she made us feel really unwelcomed and like we were a burden.

They have a great selection of liquor but they have terrible customer service skills. Last time I was there the woman was bossing a coworker around and wasn't very friendly to me or helpful and today I went in with questions and the lady was on the phone not trying to answer my questions. She was very rude. I wouldn't come here again. Also was talking very negative in hindi, a language she probably thought I didn't understand, but I did.

Thoroughly, offensively incompetent management. On its beer.menus site--which is updated regularly--the store was claiming it had a rare Bourbon County variant I'd been searching for. Since I'm 45 minutes away, I called to make sure that they did, in fact, have the beer. The person I spoke to on the phone said "oh, yes," so I asked him to hold me 2 bottles, which i promised to pick up within 24 hours. Since he sounded a bit distracted when he said "sure," I explained to him that I live rather far away, and asked him again whether he would hold it behind the counter. "Yes, yes," was the reply. Since he didn't ask for my name, I volunteered it and told him again I'd be there the next morning. Sure enough, when I got there the next day, the (different) guy behind the counter had no idea what I was talking about, basically saying to me that the place NEVER holds bottles for people. I assured him that I'd spoken to the owner the day before, so he called him on his cell. A moment later, the guy hung up the phone, shrugged his shoulders, and said "we don't have it." No apology. No explanation. So a total waste of 90 minutes on a Sunday morning, and no recognition from the business that they'd acted unprofessionally.
