We brought my daughter’s prom dress in to be altered. We had taken it to another seamstress and we were not pleased with the result. The seamstress at Ramani’s was absolutely amazing! She made the dress fit like a glove and it was done in 2 days! She was a lifesaver! Will definitely go back to her!

The guy that helped my son was so nice and he was super cool and even was great with my grandson. He also gave great deals on the extras that go with a suit.

We purchased a suit, shirt and bow tie for prom. They wrapped it all up. Opened the suit to get ready for prom and found that they had not given us the bow tie. We called the store and they had it. I asked for a refund as we did not receive the item. I was speaking to the owner and was told they couldn't do it because they were busy. "He would call the next day. Never heard from him. Called again the person was not trained on refund. Called again manager not there. Called a fourth time and was told it was my fault I left it behind so no refund can be issued. This was not a return. This was an item I paid for but was not given. I spent over $800 in the store and they would not refund the item. Horrible Customer Service! They basically just stole from me and lost a customer.

While attempting to either rent or buy formal wear, the young man was more concerned with me throwing him "$50" for assisting me in locating a jacket or suit. He stated at least 5 times in my 10 minutes around him, to throw him "$50 on the side."Under normal circumstances, I'd consider this begging.....This is some shady business ...I literally walked out; shocked an employee would try to swindle me out of my hard earned coins.To the gentleman, I do hope you grow out of ignorance and not be shallow all for the sake of a small coin.

Horrible experience at this store. I paid for an item they forgot to give me and when I asked for a refund they refused! Went to get a suit for my son for prom. Bought the suit, shirt and bow tie. They bagged it up and we left. Day of prom my son is getting ready and there is no bow tie. Call the store and speak to the owner. They have it. It was left in the dressing room. Ok to late to get it so I ask for a refund. Owner is obviously not happy says he is to busy to do the refund so he will call me tomorrow. Of course no call so I call them on Monday. The person who answers has not been trained on refunds so I need to call back later. Call again the next day. Can't do it only the owner can - ask me to call back. Call again and now I'm told it's my fault I left it there and I can not get a refund. I explain again you packaged the suit from the dressing room and told us it was in the suit pocket. It was not. I didn't forget. You never gave me the item. I simply want my money back for an item I was not given but I had already paid for. Refuse to help me. They are so happy to take your money but refuse to help when they make a mistake. No integrity, no customer service. They do not care one bit about their customers and sadly they do not care about repeat business because I will not be back.

I couldn’t have had a better experience with any clothing retailer!Having no suit for my mother’s funeral, I was in dire need of one and am grossly inexperienced.My wife and I initially went to Men’s Wearhouse around the corner - their machines were down and the employees were reluctant to even let us walk into the store. It was bizarre to come across a store that didn’t even want us looking at the inventory and didn’t even want to discuss what we were looking for. We took a look anyways and their selection was sparse. Between the lackluster selection and poor impressions of their sales representatives looking elsewhere was an easy decision to make.Insert Ramani’s. From the moment I walked in, we were greeted by an exemplary tailor by the name of Steve. I explained what I was looking for and he really took ownership from there.From only an initial glance, Steve had my sizing nailed. From the jacket and pants, to the shirt, to the tie, to the cuff links and tie clips - it all looks great and feels like it’s great quality. The textures played well off of each other and made a traditional white and black ensemble pop.Steve really understands alterations. He explained where the extra fabric would be cut back and what to look for in terms of movement and feel to ensure it was done correctly. The alterations only took 2 days and were done properly the first time. As expected, the fit is flawless.Steve even went above and beyond and took the time to show me how to do a modified tie knot that was perfectly symmetrical. He gave perfect advice for coordinating the cuff links and tie clip. Adding a touch like a pocket square (and pinning it into place) and ensuring the outfit came together properly was greatly appreciated. I’m a detail oriented person and it’s clear to see Steve is as well.Retailers - note THIS is how you win over a new client. In a world where people do the bare minimum and customer service doesn’t exist - Steve is an incredibly nice guy who takes pride in his work and delivers not only an outstanding product, but an outstanding shopping experience.I will definitely be back and encourage my family and friends to shop here. Thank you Steve; a funeral is a terrible thing to prepare for, but the suit and trusting in your experience was the easiest decision I’ve had to make this week.

This was my son's first experience getting a suit & tailoring. My son is very tall and slim so is hard to fit. Everyone was professional, friendly, and extremally knowledgeable. My son was feeling nervous and unsure of what to ask for (because of course "Mom" couldn't possibly know what to do, lol) and they made this process easy for him. Thank you

I was initially looking around at their selection, and one of their managers approached me. At one point, I asked about the outfit I was wearing that day, and I received honest constructive criticism. I couldn't have agreed more with the critic. In ways, I had a feeling a specific piece of clothing may have been throwing my entire outfit off, and it was exactly what the manager pointed out. Overall, customer service was professional and honest. At no point did I feel like they were being pushy to get a sale. Instead, the situation was approached with information that was personally tailored for me. In a nutshell, I felt heard and understood.

Vicki did an excellent job altering a blazer and skirt for me this week. Her turn around was super quick and she was sweet and professional. As long as Vicki is at Ramani, I will be going there for my future tailoring needs. Thanks, Vicki!!

Suit jacket is nice but $300 to rent is ridiculous. There was no type of accommodations to return 'cause of a stitch tacked at the ankle that can easily be taken out but the man says cause he 'tailored' it, we can't cancel. Never again! I had a wedding party that I referred for June 2023 wedding; referral canceled. Cancel the 1 star also.

(This is the review of the Meriden store the store in Middletown was more helpful) lTo say I was disappointed with this business would be an understatement. We ordered 3 blue suits for a wedding…. 4 weeks before the wedding. We were clear that we wanted the same suit for all of us (dad of bride and wedding party). We were told not a problem and we were measured. Suits were paid for in advance $500.00 each (including a tie and pocket a square). My son who was the best man bought a white French cuffed dress shirt for $55.00 which was the same shirt I had purchased from another business for $29.95. His shirt was too big ( neck was way to big and bunched up with the tie.. looking very sloppy). The suits arrived 1 week before the wedding and all needed alterations. Mine .. the pants were tooo big and baggy ( I had told them my Pants size and length when they measured me…) the jacket was small and tight .. I told them I wanted the next size and was told they would alter the jacket so it would fit better. I TRUSTED THEIR “EXPERTISE”. (Shame on me) Because we all went at different times to pick up the suits I did not see the other suits.. the day before the wedding we went up get our altered suits Mine did not fit.. pants were short and the waist still toooooo big.. the jacket toooo tight and short…. They said they would fix it that day and to come back…I did and it was exactly as before and did not fit…I spoke to another tailor and the suit was fixed “the best I can” as they had damaged the material when they altered it.. the suit fit better, but was not comfortable and I probably will never wear the $500 suit again… my son’s suit was fixed .. the other suit had to be re-altered and the other best man suit had to be delivered to him in a parking lot the morning of the wedding. The 3 suits were not the same shade of blue ( as promised) and the response was “oh well , we’re sorry.. they are close enough (the day before the wedding).$500 suit!!!… Disappointed??? You betcha… I will not be going back to that store in Meriden to purchase any suits in the future.

Jos A Bank had 10 days to to get me prepared for a wedding. I wasn't concerned with expense. I wanted to look great. A series of misfortunes and awful tailoring left me 3 days before the wedding in a panic seeking a plan B.I went to Ramani's and they set me up. They had my size. they told me specifically what was good and bad with each outfit I tried on. They were able to have it altered, and had me retry it one last time the next day to confirm my best fit. Steve and Dino were amazing.The tailor fixed several issues and was awesome. I'm very happy I rejected Jos A Bank in Fairfield and landed at Ramani's. Great job guys! Several people complimented me.Last notes. I never had a belt like the one they sold before. It was a ratcheting type. It was awesome. Easy on and easy off. It doesn't wear as a typical belt with holes, so it will last longer. It was a nifty device. Make sure you ask their help with the bow tie and the pocket square. I had no idea and they made it easy and fool proof.
