Sarah is one of the most dedicated and thoughtful people I have had the pleasure of working with in a long time! During the summer I was overcharged by a couple of hundred dollars by another staff member. After making several calls to other staff members I was told that I could only receive a credit towards my account and not a cash refund. Sarah is the only person who saw that the mistake was not mine and made sure I was refunded a check for the full amount. I appreciate her commitment to doing the right thing and being a friendly face to see whenever I come in. The YMCA is fortunate to have Sarah!

This is a great family friendly clean place to workout. I have met so many nice people here. There is something for everyone. My son swims on the team and has helped build his confidence and self esteem as well as good healthy exercise habits. My husband and I enjoy swimming laps and working out on the elliptical, treadmills and weights. My other son has played basketball on a team that the local Christian school rents time to use the gym as well. Its a great asset to the town of Meriden.

My kids use the meriden ymca for their school sports. I wish there was better parking, but the facilities have been good for them

Customer service on the phone is terrible. I called twice for information and both people were rude and didn't say bye before hanging up

Customer Service Review OnlyCustomer Service: Per many other reviews, the front desk attendant is condescending, rude, and highly unprofessional. The expectation isn’t to be cheery and outgoing, just don’t be negative, off-putting or hostile, and make at minimum some effort to assist.Demeanor: It’s like they look down upon the community they serve. It’s extremely disheartening.Data Management: If you cancel, save a copy of the form, because they will continue to charge you and make no attempt to locate the document. Per the Community Manager your form is just thrown in by last name letter, anything after that such as Ba… Be… is not considered, making file recall impossible.Recommendation: I would look elsewhere if at all possible. But don’t take my word for it, go in yourself and determine if this or the other similar reviews are off base.

I have been going to the ymca for years and have always had problems with them because of my payments. I paid and they came back and took my payment twice, they were doing that for a couple of months, I call to get the $$ back and what they say is oh we don't refund $$ but I can give you so many months for free, okay well now They have a system that if you want to pay cash you can pay but they also charge you more on the card if you don't have the $$ on the card they charge you $20 dollars more! and to top it off they don't give the employee good training to explain the supposed rules to the customer

Horrible customer service at the front desk the employees are extremely rude and don’t have answers for any concerns, BE VERY CAREFUL registering your children for their before and after school programs because the “teachers” they hire are not trained professionals and many do not know how to treat or deal with children. Instances where my child was teased and picked on by “teachers” If I could give 0 stars I would. I’ve also contacted the director multiple times and left multiple voicemails and have never gotten a return phone call.

Front desk staff very rude I have been a Meriden resident for 15 years and when Philis was in charge people were treated better. Don’t waist your time with these people they do not care about the children.

Front desk receptionist lacks basic customer service skills. Clearly can’t multitask in a friendly matter. Plan rude and unacknowledged when working under high volume visits and calls. Other than that it’s a basic YMCA with good classes. Hire better front desk staff!

The gym is great for basic and heavy resistance training. They also have rowing machines which I like for HIIT workouts and a punching bag. It's an overall good gym. They also have an upper indoor track above the basketball court which I find useful when you don't want to use a treadmill. There's usually not a lot of people there when I'm there(mainly weekend afternoons) so the machines are usually pretty free to do circuits. My son and I go for his volleyball/ soccer conditioning while I train for ocr's and we get a good workout in.

If I could leave a negative star I would. As I was dropping my child off at Nathan Hale school I saw the ymca van driver literally leave the children unattended on the van as he went and talked to another van driver and also didn't have a mask on. I am beyond shocked to see this happen.

Feels good having a place to exercise. Hadn't been there since March of last year. Glad to see that the pandemic is going away. Along with all the mandates.
