“Quite possibly the best selection of beer in the state of Connecticut. Here you will find porters and stouts and framboise Lambic at all times of the year. I can't say as much about the wine selection since I don't know as much about wine in general, but they SURE HAVE A LOT OF IT!”

“Great small liquor store. Mike gets to know your name greets you. If he doesn't carry something you are looking for he will order it for the following week. Only place you go to now”

“There appears to be decent overnight parking on the main rd (Chapel Rd) before you turn into Hartford Distributors. I had 12noon appt. arrived 08:00am. Had to wait till 11:30am to get a dock door. If you’re appt is not early then I recommend waiting till after 10:00 am to arrive to allow the Budweiser local delivery trucks to clear out. There is a clean port-a-potty on the property and the staff were all very helpful. Backing into dock 11 was pretty easy (approach blindside then u-turn counterclockwise).”

“What a great place. Joe, the owner, is kind, friendly and knowledgeable about pretty much anything that is sold at this shop! If he doesn't have what you are looking for, he will order it for you. Joe will even help you out to your car! You don't find this kind of service too often. I will be back and will recommend Forest Wine and Liquor to my friends.”

“My favorite nearby liquor store. They have a wide variety of wine and liquor and a nice variety of beer. The smaller cooler closer to the checkout always has a nice variety of large single cans of IPAs including Sip of Sunshine and Ice Cream Man, and it also has Sour Monkey from Avery Brewing in both the original and the blueberry form, which are not IPAs but are delicious sours in definitely worth the price in 19.5 oz can with a high ABV for less than $3. They also carry Dewers Scotch nippers for $1.10, which go for higher many places, and Bushmills Irish Whiskey for around $2.”

“Very nice owners very clean store and they usually have what I want and if not they said they could order it. They have a huge selection of beers they even have CBD drinks without alcohol. They also have chasers and soda to make mixed drinks. The store is large and very easy to find what you’re looking for and well lit. The owner always will help you find what you need. ??Definitely better than Brown’s package store. Brown’s package looks like there was a flood inside, it’s all nasty. Also the owner is very rude. The store is very dark and confusing and nobody wants to help you.”

“I lived in Manchester from 1974-80. Discovered Brown's as a fledgling wino. Drank Bordeaux which was affordable back then even for a young guy (early 20s). Brown's let me run a tab which I paid promptly each payday. Two guys: one early 40s who I think was a high school or college teacher, the other a bit younger than I. His name was Walter, I'm sure. They were great, so friendly. So much so that they gave me an expensive bottle of burgundy as a farewell gift before I returned to my tribe in Illinois. The store, especially the wine department, looks remarkably the same.A very special place in my life.P.S. There was also a pizza place just west of Brown's, same side of the turnpike. The owner, Chris?, also let me run a tab. Thanks. Hope all of you are well. The only sad thing is I now drink Vella or Franzia boxed chardonnay - through a straw. Depressing.I read a previous post praising a guy named Walter. Can he be the same Walter I remember from way back? Could be. Maybe he owns the place now. Please advise. Thanks.”
