Pet Care
Pieper Veterinary
51 Boston Post Rd, MadisonI've been here at least 4x for triage type visits for my older pup. Basically as a bridge with antibiotics/pain meds until we can see our regular vet. I've never been treated with anything but kindness, respect and courtesy. Only one time was there a short wait and they sensitive, helpful and intuitive. All of the staff are top notch from the sweet receptionist, vet techs and Drs. For reference it ends up being slightly more expensive than a regular vet visit but definitely less than an emergency vet. The convience and peace of mind that comes from this location is something I'm so grateful for.

Hammonasset Animal Clinic
117 Cottage Rd, MadisonI wanted to share my recent experience with this Vet. I took my sick kitten there, and I am pleased to report that he is now back to normal. The veterinarian prescribed antibiotics for a respiratory issue, and I’ve noticed significant improvement. I called him at 7am he answered and got us in that same morning! From now on I’ll only trust him with my fur babies!

Pho Madison
1306 Boston Post Rd, MadisonThis place is delicious! Every time we are in Madison we come here. The ladies are sweet. The pho, salads, spring rolls and milk tea are delish! The honeydew and the lime green tea are our favs.
The only thing that sucks are the “air fresheners” plugged in everywhere and tons of them in the bathroom I can barely breathe. It’s all you can smell inside which is a bummer. Gives us headaches it’s too much.
Otherwise always a great experience

RJ Cafe & Bistro
768 Boston Post Rd, MadisonMy family enjoyed a lovely summer luncheon outdoors today. We shared the patio's space of umbrella covered tables with well-mannered, reserved guests and cool breezes. Lobster salad BLT was today's special which was fresh, ample and delicious. Warm, attentive service was provided by Maeve and Grace enhancing our overall experience. Well done!

Life Bowls
757 Boston Post Rd, MadisonExemplified by their motto, “Eat, Drink, and Be Berry,” the Madison and New Haven cafés share nearly identical menus that specialize in Californian- and Hawaiian-style fruit bowls. Veggie salads, open-face sammies, almond-milk smoothies, and connoisseur coffees round out the concise but diverse menus. The daily soups and daily specials all are vegan. Except for honey that can be omitted and the add-ons of bee pollen or whey protein, everything else is vegan, though Life Bowls sems to want to keep that a secret. Distinct from so much vegan food that is just junk food, the entire menu scores high for nutrition. No fried foods, no white sugar, no mock meats. Everything served here is both delicious and nutritious. The Madison café on picturesque Main Street is across the street from R.J. Julia Booksellers, the region’s finest independent bookstore, and right next door to the Madison Cinema, formerly exclusively an arthouse that survived the lockdown shakedown by now featuring many Hollywood flicks. Whereas the interiors of the cafés at both locations are small with limited seating, the Madison site features tables outside its front entrance sheltered by an overhead portico that provides comfortable dining nearly year-round. Still, most local folks come here for takeout. Seasonally, its food truck expands its outreach to the underserved communities outside of New Haven and Madison. Every town in Connecticut deserves to be treated to the high nutritional standards of Life Bowls.
