The male that is in charge is rude, condescending & quite frankly, a bully, nothing but. Paperwork was filled out by resident indicating that an individual, was allowed to p/u the mail as resident was in hospital. In front of other customers as well as employees, male in charge verbally assaulted the individual who was simply following residents request to p/u mail. In addition, when the large bundle of mail was finally delivered to the residency, it was crammed into mailbox with the yellow sticky prominently displayed.(yellow sticky note was post offices "permission slip" indicating an individual was given permission by the post office to p/u residents mail, talk about an fu) It was uncomfortable to watch this large male verbally assault a customer. I feel for those employees, if he has no problem verbally assaulting customers. One has to wonder, how does he treat the employees?

Poor customer service on the part of management - rude and curt - actually hung up the phone on me ! This man should not be dealing with the public anywhere.

The male that is in charge of this post office is a bully, nothing but. Rude, condescending, difficult on every level. Refused to allow a signee to p/u mail, then instructed carrier to cram all the mail into resident's home mailbox. Prominently displaying the official post office note stating that the signee had permission to p/u mail at post office. Some people live to make others miserable, I feel so bad for those that work for him.

Our carrier continues to stuff oversized packages into our mail box, and just leaving other packages laying in the driveway. Have complained but Manager for this location continues to make excuses. Not sure what this carriers problem is but if this continues additional complaints will be sent to the regional Office

Gary is not poliet. My girlfriend and I have both had separate incidents. Very argumentative, defensive and brash. There's a few nice employees but Gary is rude and of no help.

This is a very vintage post office located just on the Green in Litchfield. There is limited parking in front, but it is shared with other businesses and those right in front of the post office is limited to 15 minutes at a time. Inside, the lighting is very dark, and it doesn't look like it's been redesigned since the 70s. They have a full display of bubble mailers, tape, and boxes. The counter has room for two tellers, and those on duty today were very efficient. They seemed to have a good supply of stamps available. There is some seating, but again.... Think 70s. The post office also has a plaque awarding the location with the Preservation Honor Award in 1983.

The employees at this facility are rude. I called in for a question about my tracking number and the man who answered was very rude. As Im explaining the situation he begins to interrupt me and gives me an attitude. First time calling and most definitely the last. I hope nobody who calls in has to deal with such a rude person.

A package was sent to me using the USPS on 6/22/20 it arrived on 8/1/20 with the outside envelope opened up and the inner sealed plastic bag also opened up and the item sent me missing. I filed a claim with USPS and received an automated response "If your mail was not delivered, please submit a new search request for your missing mailpiece." I stopped at the Litchfield Post Office and brought them the package and all communication I received on Saturday August 8th and I was told the Post Master would call me about this situation. Having not received a call from the Post Master I called today Wednesday August 12th and the Post Master offered no assistance other than suggesting I submit another claim which because the the USPS tracking system shows the package as "Delivered" just puts me in an endless loop. With this level of customer service it is no wonder the USPS is a failing business. The Post Master is the person in charge locally with ensuring customer service for the USPS customers, he like the USPS is failing in his responsibilities. My hope in sending this review is that someone will realize that anyone using the USPS service is a customer and be treated as such - that was obviously not the case in this situation.

Short walk from home, quintessential New England town center, and friendly service.
