I love Litchfield Hills Nursery all times of the year but my favorite time is when it's cold and dark outside and then walk in the nursery where it's light, warm and colorful from all the great plants. When I went there a few days ago there was a wonderful hum of people who all sounded happy & peaceful which is how I feel when I'm there. There were also some delightful scents in the air & I had the delightful scent in my nose all the way home.

Always a nice garden center with lots of plants, as well as Christmas decorations through the holiday season. I got a beautiful Christmas cactus for my mother and a cyclamen for my sister-in-law's mother for Christmas.

My family has bought from here every year. My brother just landscaped his entire new yard from plants all bought here. The staff was busy but friendly with each visit. Helpful sometimes and not others. But the plants were better cared from I thought than other places I had been to.. This past visit upset me because I drove all the way up there to get a replacement bush for one that the family dog had ruined. It was 2 in the afternoon and they were covering the plants to protect from the overnight frost. He walked me down to where they were and then told me they were already covered and he had too much to do that day so I had to come back. It would have taken him five minutes to uncover that one section but instead he told me he couldnt be bothered. He lost me as a customer that day. My other family may go back but I will not. My time is just as valuable as his and a trip to Litchfield to show up during open hours and be told sorry can't help you is not ok to me.
