“I stopped by this delightful little shop while visiting my mom who lives up the road. What a cute place! It has been around for about two years and has cheeses, pastas, tinned fish, foie Gras, pate, cured meats, and more. The owner is a retired flight attendant who hand picks all of the inventory from some of her favorite places she's come across in her travels all over Italy, Greece, France, and more. A truly can't-miss, one-of-a-kind culinary shopping experience in lovely Litchfield, CT.”

“I called stop and stop right when they opened in need of a boutonniere made that morning and the women on the phone (believe her name was Candy?) in the floral department was so helpful and amazing and said she could get me the flower within the hour! I was thrilled. And what she put together looked amazing!!”

“The food is phenomenal! Love the slow roasted pork and rice and beans! Be sure to try other sandwiches and look around the store for other great treats! Don't forget the vintage candy and ice cream for dessert!”

“Much easier since self check out has been put in, but i think they should still have more than one cashier considering the amount of people all the time. Other than that, over all great place to do your shopping”

“Sensory wise, big Y is the only grocery store chain I will shop at. The Torrington store is very quiet and safe. Also as far as my experience, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, even when I had a snafu at the register. I will continue to shop here.”

“Very helpful staff, friendly too...I love this store it's a discount version of Shop rite with many name brands. Similar to Aldi bring your reusable bags and a quarter for the shopping cart. Great variety of domestic and ethnic foods. There is no butcher, or deli, but other options are available for specialty meats,”

“I like this store. Very upscale supermarket with a lot of stuff that Price Chopper stores normally carry. A little expensive but there are some cool products I like at this store.”

“The gas station is fine, just like any other gas station. But I actually go here because it has the old school, free, precise tire filling station. A hidden gem!”

“Stop & Shop has a very nice assortment of different brands and products. They have the cheaper version and the more expensive ones. There fruit I’ve found wanting several times. ALDI has a good variety of fruit at a better price.”

“I mean, it's a Walmart, not much more to say. If I were to compare it to the one in Waterbury or Wallingford, I would say it has less of a selection. Other than that, it's what you would expect from a store like this.”

“The store is usually very neat and tidy. All the staff is very helpful and friendly, at least the night staff because that is the only time I usually go. Personally I'm trying to stop shopping at Dollar general and some stores of that nature. But at least I know I can go in there and be treated courteously by the staff.”

“Great store there are not many small stores like this left there used to be an IGA in winsted it's gone now. The produce was very good the rest of the products were good and all the staff was very nice and helpful. It was quite a change and reminds me of how it used to be when there was more smaller stores like. It would be nice if more small markets like this come back. It seems like the employees are happier and the food is definitely fresher and better quality.”

“As Dollar Generals go, this one is downright cherry. There are others in the area that lean into the black, but here we have regular convenience store lighting. You can see! You can see it from across the dark parking lot! Speaking of which, parking is plentiful since we're dealing with a big plaza. Inside you have a little bit of everything. They have coolers for cold food, regular groceries, greeting cards, seasonal, paper products, etc. Aisles are okay size, and the store is big enough where you can avoid other shoppers. There are some places admittedly better faced than others - picture frames are discombobulated, but seasonal Halloween looked picture perfect. The cashier was really friendly with the best register "bell" to summon him I've ever seen.”

“Visiting this area and stopped here for the first time, from what I gathered this is one of if not the only grocery store in Washington. It's smaller than what I'm used to and with less variety in the packaged food section but what it lacks there it totally makes up for with a vast produce section and selection of prepared foods and bakery items. They make some chocolate chunk caramel sea salt cookies and they may be one of the best cookies I've ever had in my life! The customer service is top tier everyone is so sweet. This is a slower town so people seem more down to earth and eager to help. If you're traveling through this area don't be afraid to give this place a go you won't regret it.”

“Fantastic selection, amazing quality. 3verything is super fresh and organized. Not the largest parking lot but parking isn't generally an issue...the quality of meat is next level. Amazing baked goods, cheeses and delicious with a plethora of to go dinner items. The cost is pricey. But so is quality!”

“I stopped by the BJ's in Torrington, because I needed some honey and cheese. This BJ's surprisingly wasn't that busy on two nights before Christmas. It was well stocked, but it took me some time to find everything I was looking for because the layout of this store is a bit different from the one in West Hartford. There was a very kind lady offering samples of corn and apple sauce, she was working at both stations simultaneously. Each time I passed by her she offered it to me again. I told her, I just had it, she said "that's ok, have another one!" I always thought the people who check for your BJ's membership card as you're walking in was the most ridiculous job, because you can't really do much without your card. On this occasion they didn't ask for my card. I was convinced it was in my purse. After my shopping cart was filled and I went to pay, I discovered I didn't have my card. Lucky it was in my car, so all time wasn't wasted.Their job to check for your card, actually has a purpose, holding you responsible that you know where your card is.BJ's is a Club Warehouse. Their membership is $55 annually. This is where I typically go to fill up my car with gas. Their gas prices are the best.”

“Phyllis in the optical department was extremely helpful. I broke my glasses with no back up ones and she took her time to work on them. She did the best she could while maintaining a pleasant disposition. She really helped me during the time of my distress. Not being able to see clearly is stressful and I am extremely grateful and want to acknowledge her for all her help and understanding. She made going to BJ’s a valued experience.
