DO NOT MOVE HERE! After 1.5 years of terrible treatment I am now being told I will not be getting my $500 security deposit back. So let’s tell a long story. 1.5 years ago I moved into the Inn under the landlord Todd I was told the security deposit was $500. Upon moving out I was told that it was only supposed to be $300 and the BOOKS showed $300z Thank God I had my own receipts. Showing $500 paid towards the deposit over the first three weeks. Keep in mind the new owners had officially bought the place AFTER I moved in. So not only did they not see my apartment before or during when I lived there but I have a strong reason to believe they haven’t even seen it after. It’s a drowning business that loves to STEAL. From it’s tenants. The new and current landlord that they thought would be so much better than Todd likes to go get drunk with the tennants and start fights with them too. He ambushed me outside of my apartment belligerent a few nights before I decided to finally leave. Do not move here do not rent here even if you absolutely have to. They will stew your deposit for absolutely no reasonSafety: Was constantly told there was video surveillance but it was never given to me when I asked for it when my car was broken into. They don’t do background checks anymore so REALLY sketchy characters stay there.

I had a short stay, just for a night. Bed was big and comfy, theres a back area if you need to step out, that was nice. Soap and Towels were provided and there's a coffee machine, a Mini fridge was also provided. This was actually my first stay in an Inn ever, I settled in for the night nicely. There's a cool mill across the street, I like mills and if you like New England mill towns that's a plus. Pizza place around the corner so it's in a good place, I recommend if you need a room for the night. ☘

This place is a JOKE. The “manager” Todd is a pill popping ex con who gets in the young females who stay there face like he’s gonna do something it’s DIRTY as all hell and completly out dated , i wouldn’t send my worst enemy here if it was the last place on earth, DO NOT STAY HERE.

Todd was very charming and friendly. He gave us a prime room and all of the privacy we needed! Easy check in/out and nice talking with him. Definitely would stay again!!!

Stayed here while visiting the area for 2 nights to attend a wedding in Essex, the room was very clean and the owner was a really nice guy. I'll always remember my stay at the great Ivoryton Inn!

We stayed here for 2 nights to attend a wedding in Old Lyme. Our friends, who were the parents of the groom , and their families, were staying at the Copper Beach Inn, about 1/4 a mile down the road , but had no vacancies. The Ivorytown Inn was great, and Todd , the owner or manager, was very accomodating and friendly! The room was perfect, big enough and very clean. They provided clean towels, toiletries, and gave us an iron and ironing board as soon as we asked for it. We would definitely stay there again if we're ever in the area!

Relatively clean. Sort of updated. Not a bad place to stay. Very nostalgic of a simpler time. Parking lots are rarely full.

Units are Converted from 1 Inn Br to 2 each now. The manager Todd was very nice and helpful. Very clean rooms and nice area to stay. Stayed this memorial weekend to see the Caborét show at Good speed and this was close by. First visit was accommodating for our need for the night we stayed. Recommended.

What an incredible night and morning at this quaint inn. We had a cozy romantic room that was perfect for what we needed. The atmosphere felt like a private getaway with all the accommodations to truly enjoy our stay. I highly recommend visiting and I believe you will have an incredible time like I did.

My friend and I stayed there overnight last weekend. The prices were exceptionally reasonable. There was confusion with Priceline.com that said we could check in at 12:00. When we arrived the owners are coming out and they said check in wasn't until 2:00, but they still allowed us to check in 2 hours early which was incredibly nice of them and they did not have to do that so I was very grateful. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. There was a restaurant within walking distance which was very good and downtown Essex is just a quick drive up the road. I would definitely recommend staying here and I will be planning another trip in the future.

1. The place was NOT easy to locate because google suggests another address similar to the one on the website.2. I reserved 2 rooms through Booking.com but Todd told us he didn’t receive anything.3. The man did not even come out to meet us when talking about the whole arrangement, he was a little dismissive. I felt very unwelcome after having driven over 40miles to look for this place. Glad we found another place far from Ivoryton Inn.
