One of the coolest little places in CT, a store full of interesting things and an excellent weird attraction to visit. One of the best attractions in CT although getting in can be a problem, simply call the place and you will be let in if the front door seems locked. Unsettling building by the way.Every time I go there, something feels off.

While we had a fun time there, the Curioporium is not all it seems to be. I won't support any business that withhold an artist's work and has improper business practices. That place wouldn't be half as cool as it is if it weren't for the artist that made it that. It's not ok.

Had the absolute time of my (after)life exploring Curioporium! We learned about this shop online and, as a horror fanatic, I knew I had to check it out. We planned a whole day to drive 2 hours each way to see it. Once there, we spent almost 2 hours exploring the shop and marveling over the attention to detail. The scenery, lighting, and sound effects blew me away. I really love the concept of everything that you can see being for sale, BUT that leads me to my one gripe: The pricing seems very inconsistent and unreliable.I had my eye on a specific piece, and asked the employee how much it was (as many displays do not have price tags). She mentioned that she had to send a picture to the owner and they would respond with the price. When she returned with the price, it was a little out of my range, so I decided to purchase something less expensive. When I got home, I was checking out their online shop and noticed the exact piece I was originally interested in purchasing listed for over $100 cheaper than what the owner wanted me to purchase it for in store. Which makes me glad I didn’t end up buying it, but leads me to wonder if I paid too much for the things that I did end up buying.Overall, it was a great experience and I look forward to going back if I’m ever in the area again, but I’m hoping there is more honesty in regards to the pricing moving forward.

Literally one of the coolest places I've ever visited. Super cool vibe, fascinating and beautiful items, and very friendly staff. You have to stop by if you're in the area

A great spooky, gothic atmosphere pervades the whole shop. I love that there are so many loving details put into every wall, corner, and piece of furniture. Make sure you look high and low as you walk through the haunted rooms as there are hidden sights up on the walls and tucked away in tight, gloomy corners. I especially love the huge, steampunk seance machine that greets people in the first room. The frozen mermaid in a later room is also very cool and creepy.I recently did one of their Lantern Tours themed around Lizzie Borden and it was great interactive theater. The actress playing Borden is great at going from quiet and ghostly to intense and maniacal. My only concern is that many items don't have a price tag on them, which I think might make some customers hesitant to buy things because they don't know what's within their budget. This isn't really a complaint so much as a concern from a huge fan, because I really want to see the Curioporium continue for a long time.

A delightfully dark fun corner of Connecticut! Very non Connecticut indeed. Every inch is packed with cool products and creatively weird installation s. Everything but the staff is for sale make an offer. It's a haunted shopping experience you have to go . I purchased my Alister Crowley Thoth deck here so it's tied to a joyous time .

My fiancé and I went there for my birthday and we did the tour with the Grim Reaper. From the moment you walk in well….you will just know you are in the right place! The Grim Reaper and the young lady there tonight were just awesome and we just had funny interactions while they stayed true to their characters. I am, not will, am going to go back there again.

Curioporium is a world in itself: you could visit regularly and spend hours inside and still discover something new on each visit. A truly immersive occult and folkloric experience complete with seances, cryptozoology, and Easter eggs from all your favorite horror flicks. Worth a visit to Hartford on its own... and there's lots more to explore in the surrounding area. Highly recommend.

I ? The Curioporium! Every time you step into the shop you are transported into a magical realm. Lights, fog and sounds bring you immediately into an immersive experience. The staff is amazing! They are ready to engage and interact with shoppers to tell the rich history of The Havisham Society. There is something new to discover each and every time you visit and no other shops like it in the northeast. Located halfway between Boston and New York - it's in the Parkville area of Hartford, CT. Make sure that you allow plenty of time to visit. Don't rush! There is SO much to take in, see and experience. From haunted artifacts (really!), the shop brings in talented tarot readers, psychic mediums and offers immersive theatrical performances. Check their website for upcoming theatrical events. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for specialty days and events. Stop by for a spell. You won't be disappointed!

5 stars because this place is a labor of love. Someone has put a ton of thought, and money into making this a truly unique shopping experience. "Everything is for sale. Well, almost everything." Worth a visit, especially if you're already in the building!

The Curioporium was a super fun and unique shopping experience! Being a lover of Halloween, I was very delighted to have happened upon this while in town. There were several rooms of awesome and creepy decor with items for sale throughout. There was even a tarot card reader there! Definitely make it a point to stop in here. According to our host, who was dressed and in character, the building is actually haunted, adding to the already fantastic atmosphere. There was so much to see. Everywhere you looked, there were tons of details and creative scenes, with each room having a different theme. It’s one of those things that you have to see for yourself!

Everything from haunted artifacts to books, candles, tarot cards, and hey I even got a pair of Edgar Allen Poe socks. Anyway it's a definite must see if you are in the Hartford area. They also hold cool events that you can find listed on their website.

The Curioporium is one of the most unique and amazing places I’ve ever been. It is overflowing with weird and creepy treasures presented in the most creative way. Just walking through the space is an immersive experience, and they also put on fantastic events. The staff is very nice and incredibly talented. They’ve clearly put years of effort into creating this experience and all of the characters that bring it to life during their events. If you enjoy the weird and unusual, you’ve got to check this place out!
