I had a hair dye and haircut appointment with Rafael. I has pre consultation appointment with him and we had a detailed discussion about what my base colour is and what final product I want. He assured me that I will get the colour I want in the end and it was in 7 neutral shade. He was doing the job and when I had the final product in my hair , it was way different from what I wanted and expected. I asked him why is this shade darker than what I expected. Instead of explaining it to me , he left my blow dry in between and told the colleague to take over. I have never felt so humiliated and upset as a client ever in my life. His professionalism is zero. If a customer isn’t satisfied, you have to explain to them. You don’t just tell them to go in b/w of your work. You ruined my hair colour and it doesn’t matter if you charge or not because I have to pay anyways to fix it now and my whole hair has to go to bleach which I was avoiding in the first place. I talked to the manger and her explanation was that there is no guarantee my hair would get the colour I want. Why don’t you stop taking customers then if you’re not sure about what satisfaction you can give to the client. Your employee definitely need to learn some ethics and how to deal clients.

Do yourself a favor and don’t visit if you’re a minority or an immigrant. I visit often and am continuously shocked by how much the staff here is rude and unapproachableme and other people of color I know. Scheduled an appointment three weeks in advance at the salon that I came to 15 min early because they called me saying they could take me earlier but found them be very rude because I didn’t come when they expected me to (which was earlier than my appointment time). This is unfortunately not the first bad experience at this store so I ended up leaving without getting any service. Will definitely not visit again.

Why all the incessant pressure at the register to give up your name and number? You have to tell the cashier "no" at least 3-4xs before they'll stop asking. Had one cashier catch a 'tude because I refused. Even had a cashier tell me I wouldn't be able to return my items if I didn't provide my personal information. LMAO ... FOH. This is not prom and I'm not your virgin.Calm. Down.Chill. Out.

On 1/23/23 I had THEE best experience I’ve ever had in a makeup store period! I was helped by two ladies Maya who was very friendly and helpful and Athena who was seriously TOP TIER ! Athena’s level of patience and customer service are profound! She not only assisted me with selections and alternatives but she took the time to educate me along the way with each item. I visited this branch on my birthday (which I didn’t share with her until close to the end of my time in the store) I left feeling so special and cared for!! Ulta you have gems in this branch !! I will be back ❤️

The product selection is excellent at this location. Friendly employees and well staffed, 4 stars for how clean and friendly this store is with a large selection of perfume for men and woman. The 5th star I couldn’t add because the prices are ridiculous.

I just stopped into Ulta in Hamden to grab something quickly and had the pleasure of interacting with Laura and Leanne who both were super knowledgeable, helpful, and honestly brightened my day a bit. Incredible customer service which made me want to visit the store again soon!

This Ulta is beyond awesome. I’d never been to one before and my friend brought me with her to get some beauty supplies I need. The employees were beyond helpful and friendly and obviously did their jobs too well because I walked out with my new purchase of $300 worth of products.

I have never met such rude and judgmental employees. I have shopped in this store many times and I am continually shocked with the customer service this store displays. I was there today to buy a curling iron and was unsure which tool would best fit my needs. I asked one of the employees for help and I was met with an eye roll. I had two gift cards to pay with and there is a pin on the back I needed to access to verify the card. I asked the employe behind the counter for a coin to scratch the film off and she told me to use my keys. I don’t have keys, I have a key fob. Instead of just giving me a coin from the already open cash register she made me take apart my key fob in-front of the entire line of customers.
