What an excellent experience with Mike and Daniel. Stand up guys, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Although I sound like a broken record at this point, do not waste time and money on nonsense HD or Lowe's paints like I have over the years. Great paint is available at S-W, and great staff at this location so enough debating. This is your store.

Product is top notch but so is Manager. This Store now has a high caliber customer oriented AND knowledgeable Manager to complement the SW product line. Me and my biz will gladly patronize such a winning combo. The "competition" pales many shades to the higher standard at SW. Just think about it. The big box stores spend more time shaking your can than matching the right product and materials for your project. Hamden SW puts customer 1st by genuinely understanding project and needs and laying out the facts for you to decide.

I thought I should share the great experience I had here today! I have been having a hard time tracking down the paint I needed to finish my daughter’s nursery. Today I gave a call to this Sherwin-Williams and spoke with Dan - I told him the specific paint I was looking for. Unfortunately, they were out of stock but, he offered to call around to see if he could find it for me. A short while later he called me and told me that he had tracked a down a few cans and was having them sent to the store for me. By the time I was out of work I called Dan and the cans were there at the store for me to pick up. A special thank you to Dan for going above and beyond to help a customer.

Came in and was met by Anthony today, was a great wealth of knowledge and help. was able to look back at a purchase i made 2.5 years ago and get me a color i had used on a house in Colorado. Customer service is amazing with this dude! Thanks for your help Anthony.

I called on a Saturday. I've been a resident of Hamden for 25 years so I know we can be a somewhat "direct" bunch. But Anthony who answered the phone should win a prize. It was almost like he was trying to drive me away. Guess what...it worked! Sherwin North Haven informed me I wasn't the only customer Anthony had driven their way. Guess Hamden Sherwin doesn't need the money. Must be nice!

The Dixwell Ave, Hamden Sherwin Williams Store is my go-to when I need paint/supplies or advice on a project. This location is well organized, tidy and convenient, and the staff is always helpful and friendly.

Hamden Sherwin is next level incompetent. The staff was unable to mix a custom stain by doing the simple math of converting from quart to gallon. Then unable to email the correct formula to another store that understood what was needed. Nothing but excuses. This isn't the first time I have had dealt with this store and had problems with incorrect stain mixes. Do yourself a favor and drive past this one and go to another store. Very disappointing.
