If you’re looking for luxury apartment living that is affordable in the New Haven area, definitely consider Canal Crossing. Unlike many other luxury complexes in the area, Canal Crossing offers free parking and close proximity to a large shopping complex for all of your errands. The complex is incredibly clean and grounds are well maintained. Excess noise was never an issue. The staff is wonderful. They also bring in food trucks for the residents to enjoy. My husband and I also loved being right on the canal trail for taking our bikes down to New Haven.Canal Crossing offers the best bang for your buck in the Hamden/New Haven area.

My wife and I lived at Canal Crossing for a year and a half and really enjoyed our time there. The units are well built with premium appliances. Maintenance requests were promptly addressed and the front office staff was always pleasant to work with and very helpful. The complex offers many top-notch amenities (pool, gym, club house, bike rooms, storage, garages). The complex is also located right on the Farmington Canal Trial which is a short 30 minute bike ride to New Haven. I highly recommend living at Canal Crossing if you have an opportunity to do so!

My fiancé and I have lived at canal crossing for 2.5 years and we absolutely love it here. Our apartment is modern and spacious, parking is plentiful (and free), the grounds are so nice and the amenities are awesome. We feel safe here walking at all times of the day and night. Most importantly, the staff, especially the maintenance team, are incredibly responsive and work to fix problems immediately. We will miss it here!

Wonderful place to live, I could not recommend this place enough for anyone. Especially Yale students, it’s not too far from campus, but you get the best of both worlds. It has a suburban atmosphere, but it’s not too far from campus. Also, it’s close to Hamden Plaza, and a lot of different stores and shops on Dixwell Avenue.

We have lived at Canal Crossing for the past year and have loved it! The community offers terrific amenities, including a heated saltwater pool that remains open past Labor Day. The management team is very helpful and nice. The grounds are beautiful and a wonderful escape after a long day of work. The apartment units themselves are brightly lit, spacious, and well equipped. The maintenace team responds to and helps address any concerns in a timely manner. In summary: We have lived in a lot of apartment communities over the years, and Canal Crossing is by far our favorite!

I have been a resident since 2018, and have been pleased to be here. The office staff, managers, and maintenance workers have all been very professional and supportive of my concerns when called upon. Would recommend Canal Crossing at Whitneyville.

The best support stuff in the building, Maintance and management, they are fast to reply to emergencies , clean, wonderful tenants families and young professionals. I’m still living here and honestly I don’t want to move out. The apartments are new and the amenities are going to come in handy specially when you have either dog or a child.. you can walk and run around the property at all times it’s very safe.Next to all the important markets too.Thank you Canal Crossing for all your hard work.Sam

I've lived here for 3 years and enjoy everything about living here. The complex is beautiful, peaceful and extremely well maintained, inside and out. Everyone I've dealt with in the office has been extremely helpful and friendly. All maintenance calls I've placed have been taken care of the same day. Hector and Vinny are the best! My apartment was brand new when I moved in and I have never heard any noise coming from the adjacent apartments. I've rented from the owners of this complex in the past and can attest they care about their properties and the wellbeing of their tenants.

The apartments themselves are very nice and the location is great. That said, their website claims that the complex has EV chargers, which they don’t (EDIT- website has been updated after this review was posted). When I confronted the office about the website saying this, I was met with indifference and that they were considering having them installed. That was almost a year ago and the website hasn’t been updated. I was effectively bait and switched with an alternative of an individual garage that happened to have a charger installed (probably someone else who signed the lease trusting that the landlord wasn’t lying on the website… whoops).Again, nice apartments, great location, I wouldn’t blame someone for wanting to live there- but I wanted to point out that they flat-out don’t care about honestly portraying the complex on the website.EDIT- apparently I was mistaken about the bocce court, it is there, review has been corrected. The website has also been updated to accurately the charging stations available, also noted above. As a reply to CC management, I already moved out for a few reasons, most not related to the complex. I only posted this to warn potential future tenants. I appreciate that you intended to install the chargers and it didn’t work out, but the website didn’t give any context that they were being installed or planned, it was listed as if they were already an amenity. That’s false advertising, full stop, and it was going on since the complex opened- and yes, I checked. If me posting this was the impetus to finally properly update the website after over five years of false advertising, cool, I guess.
