Stop and go Transmission came highly recommended by my mechanic to have transmission work done. I had an engine light come on with a message “transmission service required”. The work was done in a timely manner, and very reasonable. When it was time for me to pick it up, Joel, the owner took it out for a ride, and we were out for a good 20 minutes. My Volvo runs real smooth, and I couldn’t be happier.

The worst possible place to take your vehicle for a transmission issue my Jeep Liberty was there for 9 weeks they fixed nothing and actually made it worse. I also know of a bank manager who also brought her vehicle to this place and had nothing but failure

I had a great experience here. Joel, the owner is super nice. I felt the repair cost was totally reasonable. If you are a high maintenance customer in a rush, this might not be the place for you however. I would recommend this business, and I will personally be back in the future.

Took me for $138.00. No receipt, cash only, no diagnosis, only a verbal estimate to spend more money. Avoid this shop. It's shady to say the least. I changed the fluid and the filter and got it running.Service: Transmission

If time is a consideration for your review of a business that deals with auto repairs than this place is definitely not the one to go to. Every time I called for an update Joel gave me a b******* response of "this day coming up". The day comes with the expected results of getting my vehicle back and he gives another date. This happened a total of four times with no call from the business of any updates. This is on top of them ordering the wrong parts for my car and causing another update. I felt like my service just keeps getting swept to the right. If a solid expected date was given this wouldn't have been a problem, but it's the constant hassle of not knowing the state my vehicle is in on the date given to pickup. This reason alone goes to my 1 star.

Joel’s done some transmissions for me and also changed out an output shaft for me on my 70 gremlin so I could install a gearvendors overdrive and keep it shorter with the truck output shaft (727) great work .Service: Transmission

My car was towed to the garage over a month ago and I never got a diagnosis or a quote to fix it. I went from Upstate New York to Groton to retrieve my vehicle. It was apparent that the car had never been moved since being dropped off by the tow truck. In the end, it appears that it was a simple fix that could have been addressed easily. Disappointing experience.

Great, quick service and extremely reasonable pricing. The shop manager is very friendly and well educated in repairs, especially transmission repairs. They have a repeat customer in me and my family.

This is a good little shop. They rebuilt the 5 speed manual transmission in my 09 pontiac vibe (bearings and synchros). They did a very good job for a fair price. The owner, Joel, is knowledgeable and friendly. The mechanics pointed out a bunch of stuff that helped me understand what was going on. My only problem was it took a month to get the car fixed since they were very busy and the date of expected completion kept slipping. Overall good, and I would go back. Recommend having an honest conversation up front about when you need your car back by.

I needed transmission work, my mechanic referred me to Joel at Stop & Go. I fully expected to replace the transmission, it has 250,000 miles on it. Stop & Go not only replaced only the part it needed and serviced the transmission (at half the cost I expected ?) but Joel also set me up with a rental, we were in and out in 20 mins. The car was ready when promised and the problem is gone. I highly recommend Stop & Go, Groton. Helpful, friendly and honest people. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
