WORST HILTON EVER! I’ve been a diamond member with Hilton for years and this was not only the worst service I’ve ever received but also the most I’ve ever been overcharged. I travel for months at time for work and always try to stay in a Hilton property but after this stay I will be reconsidering that. I was here for 29 nights.
1. Staff is not only rude but very unwelcoming. They made it feel like I was an inconvenience for them.
2. Gym is missing random dumbbells and other equipment and the stuff they do have is broken. I was there 29 days and it wasn’t even attempted to be fixed.
3. Breakfast isn’t free. Even the buffet was almost $20 and it’s a smaller selection than the regular free Hilton breakfast.
4. Laundry is a joke. I needed quarters for the machines and the front desk acted like I was crazy when I asked for them. I had to run the dryer 4 times to dry a normal sized load and when I brought it up to the desk they said it is what it is instead of making it right.
5. They wouldn’t honor a company discount rate because I booked to late even though I was added to the project late. I was overcharged by thousands.
6. Half of the hotel was there for the outage and working nights. I understand the cleaning crew still has a job to do but they slam doors, yell to each other all the way down the halls, and play music, making it extremely difficult to get any sleep.
7. The rooms suck. My bed was sunk in on both sides and not comfortable. The bathrooms have nasty yellow stains in the center of the tub as well as rust trails running down from all of the metal pieces.
8. The second floor smells. As soon as you get off the elevator you get hit with a weird wet dog type smell. It never went away.
I had a lot of coworkers who also decided to stay at this hotel and everyone I spoke to had the same experience. We come up yearly for this outage and I will never stay at this hotel again. I wish I would’ve taken photos but I was so tired and fed up I didn’t. If I could give this zero stars I would. It’s an outdated hotel with a ton of issues that overcharges.

Never acknowledged as an Hold member. Warm bottles of water in room. Asked front desk person not to be near an elevator & was told it was several rooms away. Room was 1 away from elevator so went back & asked to change. She said "It's not RIGHT by the elevator!" with an attitude but changed us. As I suspected she placed us as far away as possible. With the crumby layout of the hotel we walked probably 1/8 of a mile. There was a bump in the floor (2 buildings joined?) and upon leaving my wife tripped and fell. Fortunately for us (& them) she was ok.
Safety: Down the back hallway there is a slight rise in the floor and you can easily stumble &/or fall. There is no warning.

I was going to wait until i leave to leave a review but i hope i can save some people from wasting your money here, im here on business so luckily it isnt my money being wasted here but this place is NOT WORTH $350 per night, i currently have a slugs in my shower, a bathroom door that i (a 270 6”4 male) have to shove to open, there is no hot tub, seemingly no restaurant, the breakfast is the exact same at the hampton in but costs $15 for no reason, the toilet has now clogged 2x, the room doors are very difficult to open as well, and some random loud noise that just starts randomly, the staff is very friendly though, i highly recommend staying at the hampton in mystic which is cheaper and nicer, DO NOT STAY HERE
Safety: Homeless people walking through parking lot
Noteworthy details: Slugs in bathroom

This is my second stay in 2024 at Hilton Garden Inn Mystic/Groton and I will gladly stay again when I am in the area. Service is excellent. The prepared breakfast is delicious and quickly served. The evening diner selection is worth trying: I had the grilled salmon with mixed greens and mashed potatoes; recommended. The free in room WiFi is hit or miss and could be better and I experienced poor connections when working in my room. I rate this stay as excellent and I gladly recommend this hotel when your travels bring you to the region. I want to give thanks to Liz at the Front Desk - she was a joy to see again after a long day of travel. Thank you, Liz!
Food and drinks: Great breakfast selection at a reasonable price. Same with my dinner selection. Gordon Ramsey would approve :)

This place is too old & tired to be charging almost $200/night. Stayed on 4th floor. The hallway smelled awful. Room carpet was dirty; there was a sharp screw on the bathroom floor; sheets were thin as paper; comforter/bed cover was old & nasty; toilet wouldn't flush without holding the handle. I book here as a Hilton Honors member, rather than the Hampton nearby, because the showed they have a hot tub. With My back issues, I was looking forward to the therapy of a good soak. I was sorely disappointed to see the tub has been filled in and now hosts a nice patio table. Breakfast?... not unless you wish to pay $15 for the standard, mediocre buffet. Glad to be out of here & only one night's stay. If it hadn't been late when I arrived here after work in the area, I'd have found another place.
I'd not come back here until after a renovation & don't recommend staying here at all.

Rooms are nice but even 4th floor room smelled of chlorine from pool.Maybe from air system? (Updated after staying one night see below)
Site says they have room service but they do not.
Asked at resteraunt/bar for 4 spoons. Was told they only had resteraunt spoons and they gave me 4 plastic forks. So I had to order a slice of cheesecake with 4 spoons. Had to pay with cash because they couldn't take a card. Was short changed 40 cents...not a big deal but seriously I had to pay $9 for food I didn't want just to get some spoons to use in our rooms.
Edit: microwave made cycling wiring noise even when off...unplugged. Mini-fridge froze everything...should have checked temp setting.
Smoke Alarm flashed two lights ALL NIGHT LONG.
DO NOT RECCOMMEND

$337.22 for the most standard, no frills hotel experience ever. Amenities felt like the place wanted to modernize 15 years ago. I’m from camp “omg, people pay over $100 for a hotel room?” which I had to get over a few years ago when it came time for shelling out for anything half decent, but oh my god, actually dumbfounded that THIS is the most expensive hotel I’ve ever paid for. $337 for your standard 2-star experience. AND it doesn’t even come with breakfast. Extra $15 for the worlds
most basic cafeteria eggs, bacon, potatoes, muffins, bagels, and cereal. Oh, and coffee that is 50% coffee grounds. Also, our toilet flusher was practically falling off, and the sink handles were in need of repair. The bathroom door also doesn’t stay open, so that is annoying. Bed was comfortable though, and no sign of bed bugs. Room 226. But hey, at least it’s across the street from a Five Guys, and Walmart…
Rooms: Basic, no frills, middle-class-millennial-nostalgia.

The rooms smell old
Nothing works in the gym.
And the breakfast is mediocre at best, and you have to pay for it, and it's the same breakfast that every other hotel offers for free.

Really unenjoyable stay. First floor ice machine is broken with no source of ice or fresh drinking water outside of the $3 bottles of warm water on the counter. No practical amenities, and service was non existent. Overcharged $150. Won’t be back.

The lady at the front desk was very nice and the rooms were clean and comfortable. My only complaint would be that the heat in our room did not work properly but the cooling was fine.

Horribly run hotel maintenance. Half of the fitness center was out of order and the rest was filthy. Out of order signs all over the hotel.
Rooms are okay at best but clean. At least the area is nice.

The receptionist SARA noticed I had left my phone on the couch cushion in the lobby and went to the parking lot looking for me. And you found me!!! Thank you so much for taking such great care of me.
The night before, LIZ was very friendly and helped reserve an amazing room for me based on my preferences. A big thank you to both of you!
Give these ladies some recognition! Biggest thank you. Eli
