The only positive this I can say is the room had plenty of room. I can deal with an outdated dirty room, but when I pay for something I expect it. I paid for a jacuzzi room and got a room with a small whirlpool tub. Definitely not the picture of the room I chose. That's what I get for paying in full non refundable. Now I see why that was. Customers do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to not stay here, it's worth the extra money to get what you pay for.Rooms: Plenty of room, dirty and outdated. Tv had horrible reception

The Pros:- Room was spacious- Jetted tub in room- Mini fridge- Service was good, no issuesThe Cons:- Awful smell in room (we went to Walmart across the street to buy air fresheners)- Everything looked and felt dirty (we also bought and used a whole container of sanitizing Lysol wipes)- Spiders, spiders, spiders- Bed wasn’t super comfortable, stains on beddingOverall, not worth the $132/night rate. Maybe $60.

Honestly I don't know why there's so many bad reviews ur staying at a hotel under 120$ and it's smoking. You're bound to have burns and things and it's obviously older but we booked a room last min got right in and it was just what we paid for. Everything works huge tub toliet paper and towels where all great too.

I do not recommend this place. The condition of the room was not as advertised by the travel app Hopper. We did not stay and the management refused to refund nor did hopper refund. We are disputing the charge through credit card. Someone had been smoking in the elevator. The hall smelled of smoke. The pictures in the app showed a basically brand new room, but what we were given was a room in disrepair and not habitable, in our opinion. We reserved a non-smoking room and it was obviously smoked in. Smell and burn marks from cigarettes. Burn marks on the edges of the tub and the jacuzzi. There were some sketchy looking people hanging out. The hotel was in disrepair. Rotting exterior. The room we were presented was disgusting and in disrepair and repairs made to the room look like a toddler did them. See the photos. The place, in our opinion, is a dump and the health dept. should investigate. I am going to report to authorities the condition. The place should be condemned in my opi

I was told this hotel is in a good part of Groton, Ct. however, reading the reviews it's not the best place to stay. I was also told it was clean, it is not. I canceled my booking a day after making it because I called Gold Star. The manager was very vague when I asked him questions about the hotel. Also, I couldn't understand a word he was saying. I made another reservation somewhere else in Groton, and I'm happy to say the owner was very nice and assured me we'd have a wonderful stay. Stating his hotel is clean, safe and the grounds are pretty too.

April 29, 2023 The Gold Star in Groton, CT is a wood weathered building with an old-fashioned feel. There are rules posted at the check-in area. The room was decent with an interesting layout. I offer no recommendation as I dis not stay here, I visited my nephew.

Horrible place, the bathroom ceiling was leaking and water stained, wall had damaged drywall. Went to a show at Foxwoods and when we got back to the hotel there were 10 police cars there dealing with a domestic violence in the room next to ours. After the cops left the couple continued to fight and scream at each other for hours and the hotel staff would do nothing about it. The rates might look great, but I would recommend staying ANYWHERE else!!

We normally stay here when we visit the casinos. Very convenient location. Close to everything. clean & Bugfree. Great for the price. Good customer service. Rooms are big & okay. Although, they do have old microwaves that take forever to heat up your food. Lol.No smart tvs.Visited again on February 7th & 8th 2023....

The place is far from well maintained. Room was dirty. And the shower head was spraying water all over the walls and not where is should have been. Room smelled and so much damage in the
