My experience was mortifying to say the least. The interaction began with me ringing up my Instacart order which consisted of a mere 4 items, unfortunately for me my Instacart credit card was declining so I got the alert on my phone that the total was too high and to contact support. I wanted to try again and upon the first error message this rude associate came up to me already with an attitude and asked if everything was alright, to which I responded "I hope so" because I was hoping genuinely that it would just go through the second time. When it did not go through the second time she was already huffing and puffing steps away and motioning other people to be helped elsewhere as if I wasn't already in the corner because I have anxiety trying to take up as little space as possible with my partner on the next register also doing another Instacart order. She continued to walk away to assist someone else which was no problem for me at least less pressure. So I pressed the help button for her to come back and void or suspend the transaction until after I contacted support, I headed to an aisle to get out of the way of those checking out. My boyfriend witnessed her speaking badly about me while I was trying my best to not panic and just basically do my job. She was talking to another customer that had nothing to do with my situation about how I just left the self check and she didn't know what I was doing in the corner and agreeing with the customer in his words that I must've had no money. My boyfriend tried to calmly intervene and tell her that it was an Instacart issue and she ignored him completely. I proceeded with the order once support cleared the issue that had nothing to do with any wrong doing of my own. She did not apologize or anything instead she decided to go check the register receipts after we walked away as if we had stolen what we were working for. I noticed her name was Ebony from the name plate on her shirt before I left. If she makes anyone else feel the way she made me feel she deserves to get fired, I've been in customer service field for 8years plus and just because you are in a ridiculously privileged area doesn't mean you should treat anyone like trash for just existing. I'm an honest person doing an honest job who tries to stay out of the way and keep my head down and do a damn job. I may not be rich like the majority of the snooty people who inhabit this area but I'm actually born and raised in Stamford CT and don't appreciate being treated like this anywhere. She's been rude in previous interactions as well not a pleasant representative of the store at all. I'm filled with rage but also sadness because I'm going through enough I don't need someone else who is supposed to help basically talk crap about me to people I don't even know about something they don't even understand or know.

Don't visit this store anymore. Used to be so nice having a high end store in our section of town. Now it's so low class. The employees are horrible. Store is dirty. Plenty of other stores to shop at in town.

Used to like this place and they had some nice employees. Some of the nice ones are still there, however they've employed some shifty ones of late. They had 2 of the items I bought which were mislabelled, in their favor of course. Things which were practically 1/2 price so I got them based upon that. I went through the self checkout and noticed they hadn't rung up as being discounted, but I didn't have time to go back and look for something else, so I went to chat service. I told the young guy about the labelling and he went to have a look - I wish I went with him but it meant leaving my heavy cart which I had goods I have paid for. He came back and said label wasn't there. Blatant lie. Meanwhile while he was gone an older lady took over from him, this time I followed her because she said she would look too. Sure enough the sign was gone. She did decide to refund me, and while still in the process of doing that refund, he goes by her and reveals a crumpled up sticker (the one which was in the shelf) so he had ripped it off and was saying it was not there. This isn't proper behavior and this is not the first time I've had this type of nickel and dime-ing by a youngish employee, as if it's coming out do their own pocket or something. It isn't how customers should be treated, making them look like liars. I gave him a piece of my mind to the tube of j would never trust him again. An older employee who knows me mouthed "sorry" from a distance. The lady who it turns out is the store manager, told me she would deal with him - and I'm like, aren't I able to defend myself? Crazy treatment of loyal, long-time customers. I mean I've been going there as long as this kid has been I. This world, but there's other places to shop. Also, some cleanliness issues, and fridges that seem to not be refrigerating properly. Place needs refurbishing and better new hires who are taught how to treat customers and handle errors the store has made.

Terrible place. Van Leeuwen Ice Cream on sale in the flyer for 4.99. Buy 2 pints and get to cash register. $8.99 less $1.50 says the register. I show them the flyer. Oh, you need our app to get this price. But, the app doesn't have this price. Talk about bait & switch. Bring back the old Porcelli's. Good honest people.

One of the greatest luxuries of being in OG is this high end grocery store. Organic veggies, fresh sushi made everyday, great cheese selection, beautiful flowers, yummy chocolates, Papayrus cards, convenient package store, newspapers all at our finger tips. The helpful, well trained staff make this neighborhood haunt a pleasure to frequent. They did an epic job during COVID. They care and it shows.

Pros: The produce is always fresh and the cookies and baguettes are delicious. The staff at the registers and in the deli are helpful and friendly. Cons: The prices are exorbitant. Sometimes the listed prices does not match the register.

Very convenient but much higher prices. Only use as a quick shop. Bottle room has yet to open. Annoying.

Kings management needs training in customer service. Today I went to buy some chicken thighs for our family dinner. When my son and I took them to the cashier to pay, the chicken (that was not due to expire until tomorrow) smelt so bad that the cashier and I decided the chicken was rotten. When the cashier brought the spoiled chicken to the customer service manager, rather than apologize, the manager told the cashier it was the customers job to take the chicken to the butcher in the back of the store = it was not her job! At the end of the day and with a small child. I did not appreciate the implication it was MY job to do THEIR job. Nonetheless, i needed chicken, so I went back to the butcher. Then I saw an attendant try to put the chicken thighs back in the fridge meat to sell! On another occasion when I went to buy something marked with a special price, and the price does not appear correctly at the register, the customer service manager has said "oh that special price is over, you have to pay the new price" rather than honor the price displayed on the shelf. in summary a 1960s Soviet style approach to customer service!

A nice store, with reservations. Today's "Italian Festival" was a joke. A few olive oils and sauces, nothing worth promoting. The bathrooms are upstairs past the employee lunch room, made Trader Joe's look like the Hilton. Went into the closet size liquor store. I guess you have to call someone in to ring up your order. Definitely needs some work.

Thank goodness for Kings! I almost always shop at Kings. I used to live in NJ and frequented their Montclair location. I'm a pretty big purchaser of fruits and vegetables and they always had the freshest and best tasting with decent organic options. Now that I live in Greenwich area, I am very pleased to find there is a Kings here, too! The same holds true for their Old Greenwich store. Their food is the freshest and great quality. It's slightly smaller than Montclair but they do a great job of keeping a decent selection. They have great meat and fish options, too. The Old Greenwich staff is definitely two steps above other supermarkets I've been too. Very helpful and friendly. Thanks, Kings!

Be very when buying roasted chicken from this store! I had the unfortunate experience of purchasing one only to find a piece of the metal spit included!

Great, small, local grocery store. They do a great job given their limited square footage. Very friendly staff. Always opening a new line if the wait is more than 1 customer. Worth the slight premium price.
