My family and I have been taking my animals to the Greenwich Animal Hospital for over 20 years, and were satisfied until the pandemic. This is the only reason I have given this place 2 stars. I can very confidently say I will never be returning. There have been many issues since the pandemic, but it all boils down to average or sub-par care for exorbitantly high costs, almost double what you would find anywhere else.. You are more likely to be satisfied at the vet across the street and actually save some money.
Our last visit with a cat was a regular wellness exam, followed by two vaccinations: A 3 year FVRCP and a 3 year Rabies vaccine. This single vet visit was $433, over $300 of which was the vaccines alone, while the national average for this visit would be around $175-200. After doing research to find that in new england the average cost of a 3 year vaccine would be at most 80$ for rabies and $100 for FVRCP, I called to ask for clarification. The only response I got from the manager was "well, this is around what other places are charging and we find that we are very competitive for Greenwich and Westchester." They also kept saying "Well, $300 for 3 years of not needing vaccines is a very good deal for you to not have to worry about it" totally ignoring the price differential backed by my online research and that of my insurance's expected coverage.
I recognized that maybe it is specific to Greenwich, so I called several vets in the area to clarify and see if this was accurate. Not only was this not the case at all, but the highest cost for any of these vaccines in the area was $120 from a vet in westchester, while the vet across the street from Greenwich Animal Hospital charges only $80 for the same vaccines, despite GAH claiming they are "competitive". Out of 5 vets, 4 of them cost less than $100 per vaccine, most in the $80 range.
We have been routinely disappointed by the exorbitant and honestly extortionist prices of this area that drives people to be wary of taking their animals in for checkups or needed medical attention, while the care doesn't warrant such high costs. They often direct you to other specialists, that will do the same work again that GAH did and charge less. They rarely give you prices on treatment until you agree to care, and try to add expensive charges and have a "gotcha" moment when you check out. Overall, I am extremely disappointed in how far the care has fallen at this location, and they have driven a long-term customer away. I haven't even been to the vet across the street yet, but have already made appointments and transferred all my medical records. I have several friends who have felt similarly and also decided to find care elsewhere, and I recommend you look elsewhere if you value your pets and not paying over-the-top costs.

I had a great experience with the staff at Greenwich Animal Hospital. I was dog sitting my daughter’s dog and he needed to go back to the vet at Greenwich Hospital to have his ears repacked. Sonny is quite a large dog. Once I arrived, I called in and Vitally came out and helped me get Sonny out of the car. He let Son stopped and smell the roses and then took him right in and took care of his ears. While I waited, the front desk, girl was amazingly personable. Once Vitally brought Sonny back out of the room, he helped me put him back in the car. I was eternally grateful. It was such a smooth transition from one step to another. The place is immaculate. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Thank you for that.

I recently visited Dr Simunek with my 8 year old Golden Retriever Hudson and I couldn’t be happier. We had a great experience, Dr Simunek was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I’m officially transferring all Hudson’s needs over to GAH. 10 out of 10 recommend :) also the staff is so sweet Carley & Eloise were so kind with Hudson ??

The entire staff of doctors, techs and support team at Greenwich Animal Hospital has gone above and beyond in caring for our Golden Retriever for the last 5 years. Would highly recommend to everyone. They are courteous and helpful on the phone, polite and thorough in person and we feel like we are in the best hands.

I am impressed with all of the employees at GAH- from the front desk to the vet technicians and the veterinarians.
They are professionals even on the very busy days. As a pediatrician I can relate to the difficulties of taking care of patients who don't really love entering the office itself-but the staff handles the "hesitant" patients with patience and respect!
