I tried to go to A1 because it was the only store listed on Yelp as being open until 9:00. Well it was closed. I thought perhaps CT had moved on from the stupidity of making stores close at 8:00. Then I had to go because there were only seven reviews but all were 1 star. I had to see for myself. My experienceYoung guy politely asks if he can help. I tell him what I'm looking for. He checked and they don't carry it. Fine I'll browse. He starts to hover around me a little bit. Probably wouldn't have been so obvious if there were other customers in the store. Little annoying but I'm used to it. I tend to dress in old jeans or cargo shorts and flip flops. I guess I give off the impression of someone that doesn't belong in Greenwich. Pricing was very much inline with what I would expect to pay in a retailer pretty much anywhere. Points for that. I bought a few bottles ~$25. Only 1 of the purchases was I familiar with but I was thrilled to see it on the shelf and at a price I was paying 10 years ago. On the way out I caught the profile of someone up in an elevated loft/office that I suspect was the reason for the hovering. Maybe Greenwich has a lot of shoplifting. Try not to be dissuaded by the 1 star reviews. If you're in the area go check it out for yourself. I hope you enjoyed the short story. I must be bored.

Got overcharged ($14) for a six pack, I didn't get a receipt but should have asked for it. Other reviews report the same overcharging.Either they are inflating their prices, or the employees are pocketing the difference, or they're plain competent. Neither option is good.Next time I'll just go to the liquor store that is one block over!

Grumpy, old white man who is the manager spoke extremely disrespectfully about his hard working Latino employee who was quickly and politely doing everything he was told to do. I was charged 3X THE CURRENT STANDARD MARKET PRICE for the bottle I purchased!!! $150 instead of $50. (Purchased 1 week prior for $50 - within 10 miles of this store). This place used to be run by a tall south Asian gentleman and his staff who were all very professional, helpful and polite. It used to really be a pleasure to shop here. - The current management has NO idea how much business they will now lose as I WILL NEVER shop here again.

Absolutely rude. The worst customer service ever. The cashiers would barely speak to me when asked questions. They didn't even acknowledge my presence. I called to ask about the product before arriving and when I arrived and they were completely standoffish. I asked where the product was located in the store, one of the cashiers MUMBLED and pointed. I had to ask him to repeat himself which he did with eyes rolling. I usually go to Greenwich Wine and Spirits, but unfortunately they were out of stock. I will never ever ever spend another one of my hard earned dollars at this business.

Be careful when buying beer here. They store it too cold and it ruins the beer, making it flat. When trying to exchange the beer or get a credit they say they are not doing returns...even for an issue caused by them. Very disappointing.

Use to be nice folks with good price. The price of specialty beers are 10.00 over the price from other local shops. Never ever will I shop at this over priced non educated shop. Hope more folks realize how overpriced and how much they don't know what's on the shelf...

Why build an expensive and nice looking glass cabinet to put high end whiskey in it but then price is 3-4x MSRP so no one will buy it?

I don't usually write reviews but But I feel this is definitely warranted. When I went into this establishment,A1 Cellars I asked a older gentleman that worked there for a particular brand of wine. understandably I probably wasn't pronouncing it correctly and he dismissively responded responded "no he did not know". I then asked where I could find South American wines, he then pointed in that direction. I couldn't find what I was looking for so I googled it and went to find the employee when I saw him his back was slightly turned And he did not see me approaching so of course I said "excuse me" he then saw it was me he proceeded to roll his eyes and huff , like here she comes again I said " I'm sorry am I bothering you ....never mind" visibly annoyed he said "no what do you need ?"I then said it's OK thanks and walked out. Customer service was horrible at best! This employee was super rude to say the least and very dismissive! They have definitely lost a customer! Lol so because I asked for what I wanted because I couldn't find it I wasn't being safe yet I was wearing both mask and gloves and standing 6ft or more away and the employee had neither? Your correct how rude of me to ask for help during a time like this and no I would never come back this had nothing to do with the pandemic and everything todo with customer service. If that employee is your hero Good luck! I will say this is my mistake for not reading the reviews on this business before I went in!
