Super cute little thrift store that raises money for The Village. Run by friendly volunteers, you'll find clothes, shoes, purses, household items, jewelry, and books. Plenty of off street parking available. See photo for hours. Go support a good cause and find something you just have to have ?

"Mama used to tell me Long time ago Not everything you see glitter is gold You're just a brand new second-hand gal" (Peter Tosh) They are only open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and they're only open a total of eleven hours per week, but it would really be worth your while to check out the Glastonbury Second Chance Shop. We've visited their Simsbury store a bunch of times, and we saw pretty much the same selection of low priced goods here in Glastonbury - men's & women's clothing, shoes, household goods, artwork, books, toys, etc. We caught a 50% off sale on clothing yesterday, and I walked out with a $15 blazer for $7.50. Pretty sweet, eh? All proceeds go to charity (The Village for Families) and the store employees are all volunteers. The two women we interacted with were as nice and friendly as could be, we really enjoyed chatting with them. Bottom line? You can score some great bargains and support a worthy charity all at the same time.

My posting showing one star is incorrect. Please disregard. This is one of my favorite shops for its care in organizing and displaying clothing, jewelry and home goods. I especially like the handwritten notes on some things that tell us something about it.

My teenager likes thrift shopping .. we went there for fun and to discover the store.. It smells like lavender and the volunteers are so welcoming and kind.. we bought few items and some jewelry .. it was such a great experience! We will most definitely return.. I am so happy our purchase helped the village for families and children!! I highly recommend this store.

Update: Someone other than the dog finally noticed me and welcomed me in. Apparently, there are different operating hours today (8/17/19). I would call before visiting. The folks were really nice, and the prices are reasonable. I'm out doing a little early morning thrifting. The sign says it opens at 10am. It's 10:10 and there are clearly people inside but no one but the dog cares that I'm standing at the front of the store. It's such an inviting atmosphere.

Very nice things for a fraction of the price. The store is always clean and well kept. The staff is fantastic. The workers are all volunteers. So more of your purchase dollars go to a great charity. Items change daily so stop in often."The Village has been dedicated to building a community of strong, healthy families in Greater Hartford who protect and nurture children."
