Our first visit to the Marlborough location of Glastonbury Animal Hospital! The staff is incredible and super friendly from the first phone call to walking in the door. Dr. White took his time with our sweet Scout and listened to me (without feeling rushed). So glad I heeded the advice of others. Choosing a vet is never easy, and I'm glad we found GAH right around the corner!!!

They're so bad. Initially they're nice but they would not take accountability if they make a mistake. Constantly trying to price gauge you, passive aggressive responses to Google reviews. Save your money and find someone who cares.

They don't believe in giving you an estimate before your appointment, they say that they would rather build a doctor-patient relationship first and then give you an estimate. So if you want your dog or cat spayed, you need to go see the doctor first to get the estimate here just a few prices. Two people quit, because they said that you can't talk to management which is true. Vet visit for dogs and cats is $76 Vet visit for exotics is $96 PAYMENT DUE AT THE TIME OF MAKING AN APPOINTMENT Recheck is $65

Our rescue is terrified of the Vet and the worst dog in the world when it comes to getting her nails cut. The only place that can cut her nails, and we've tried everything and everyone, is GAH. This is the absolutely best and most understanding staff.

I am visiting the area and my dog had recently received multiple tick bites from on hikes. Was able to get an afternoon appointment and appreciate the thorough conversation & exam.

Too expensive.... Vaccines are triple the price that they should be in the state of Connecticut according to the American Kennel Association... $300 for an office visit just for a few vaccines!! $75 office visit and 4 vaccines! How does that come to $300!? Changing Vets immediately... God forbid I had more than 1 dog...

This was the best bet experience I have ever had. We had moved and our vet was 45 mins away. Our older dog was having a problem and this office got him in same day without being an established patient. Every single aspect of interacting with this office from the appointment to the front desk to the doctor... Everything was so kind, caring and such a wonderful experience. Dr. Cotthaus saw my dog and was so good to him, not cold like most vets I've been to. He showed positivity and compassion and easy to talk to. We didn't feel rushed. They even clipped his nails when he was in back! The price was very fair! I am switching my other two dogs to this office as well! I wish I found them sooner!!

I would NOT recommend this Animal Hospital to anyone for several reasons. I never write negative reviews for any businesses and I felt compelled to write this one so no one has to deal with what I dealt with today. The staff there is typically nice, however my dog has been brought to that Animal Hospital five times for the same exact issue over the last 2 years. They never got to the root of the issue, they just kept selling us expensive itch pills, sprays, and dog foods to give him which never addressed his issue. This last experience was atrocious all due to the interaction I had with "Dr." Cothaus. I still can't believe this just happened. He came out to speak to me and was very condescending from the start. He was asking me questions about my dog and I was answering each question he asked directly. He clearly got frustrated with my answers because they were not what he wanted to hear. At that point, he made me go into an exam room with him alone (no pet with me) and shut the door and insulted me by telling me I was being rude to him (which I was not), I answered every question he asked and was likely showing some frustration because everything he suggested we had tried. I was totally caught off guard and felt very uneasy. I'm worried about my dog and he had zero compassion. I asked him if he could prescribe the antibiotic and he proceeded to insult me. Instead of talking about what the plan was to address my dog's issue, all he wanted to talk about was how he didn't care for my tone. When I told him that I had to go, because I had only stopped in to pick up a medication and I had to leave because I had an appointment in 10 minutes, he completely ignored me and just wanted to continue to insult me. Feeling very uncomfortable, I opened the door to the exam room and walked out of the room, walked up to the front desk, and asked for my pet's medical records. He proceeded to walk through the waiting room into the back and after he heard me ask for the records, yelled out, "That's the best thing I've heard all day!" I felt like I was dealing with a teenager. It was the most unprofessional behavior I've ever seen from a medical professional. He was also very rough with my dog when he was just a puppy and that's why I always requested a different vet when we went in there. If you go to this animal hospital, ask for a different vet.

The experience is always a great one. From the front desk personal with their friendly and helpful attitude to Dr Bob with his friendly demeanor and his caring approach to the animals he treats in particular my dog Thai. Glastonbury Animal Hospital is the best. One additional comment, they don't try to sell you treatments that are not critical to your dogs well being. I appreciate that.

I have had two expensive but positive experiences with this hospital. Unfortunately my 3rd experience was not acceptable. The vet who met with my Dog Arrow and myself for a fairly routine visit for a 10 year old dog disregarded my request to stay in the exam room with my dog and did testing that I told her I did not want and did not return to talk to me about the results of what the findings were. One of the young front of the house staff came in with her tablet with the charge for the visit and asked me to sign which I did, I asked for an itemized list for the charges she said they would e-mail it to me, which they did. The bill was over the top with all these charges, some were discussed most were not. The owner was very curt with me when I asked why things were mishandled and he fired me as a customer. My dog was not doing well so I found another vet and they discovered a heart murmer which Glastonbury Animal Hospital missed, I would not recommend them to anyone.

GAH has been amazing to us and our pets for the last 20 years. They have provided awesome care to our bottle fed foster kittens as well as to our little old lady cats. Some have required complex care and they always present all options to us with kindness and compassion. Jennifer at the front desk and the vet techs are fantastic too. We thank you for your consistent and always amazing care.

Another great experience at one of the best vet practices in the area. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. I brought in 2 of my cats and my dog this time for routine checkups. Everything was explained very well, all for a very reasonable fee.

Excellent team that went beyond the call of duty to help us during today's emergency. Our friendly MalShi (Malshies.com) was attacked by underground Bees/YellowJackets in his morning run, and his eye started to swell immediately. He is not just our pet, but he does therapy work with people grieving the loss of loved ones for the non-profit MyGriefAngels.org, and was an inspiration to the team of volunteers from the non-profit who just launched the free mobile app "Pet Loss" on Apple and Google Play Stores - the app is for people who have lost a pet and it provides resources per type of pet loss: dog, cat, birds, horses, etc. Glastonbury Animal Hospital is not an emergency hospital, but thanks to a last minute canceled morning appointment and the great assistance of the front desk staff, they were able to get our MalShi in and treated with the appropriate medications. The vet, Ellyn Kirk, was great with the puppy and he was much better after she treated him. Thank You!
