I've never seen a Subway and a package store sharing a building before, but here we are. Highlands Package store (and Subway) are located right at a light, so getting in and out can be a matter of luck and timing. Despite that, there seems to be a pretty good turnover of cars at the package store. They seem to be regulars - they get out of the car, go into the store, and come out within minutes with a purchase. If you're new or a guest to this particular store, I was actually very impressed with their level of selection and price points. They have a lot of liquor, so plenty of variety and a good chance of finding something new. The wine is priced from $10 to much more "fancy" prices. It's definitely fun to poke around here! I suppose just stay out of the locals ways.

They know what they have in stick, and if you are looking for something in particular they will make every to get it in stock for you. They really care about their customers and are so nice!! This package store does the job in a pinch. It is surprisingly well stocked for such a small space and even has a decent selection of refrigerated white wine. Their prices are a bit above what you'll pay at one of the big liquor super cellars but you're trading off convenience. When it's Wednesday night before Thanksgiving and you've realized your family is several bottles short to make it through an entire family holiday, it's nice to be able to nip down from the Highlands and pick up a decent selection at the last possible moment.

Decent liquor store, prices are a bit high, but for convienance sake it isn't bad. Unfortunately the stench of the Subway next door has literally permiated throughout the whole store, providing the customer with a genuine Subway experience while shopping for your booze. Can't say that I enjoy that since I find the smell of processed stale cold-cuts and freshly baked breads from concentrate more unappetizing that anything, but the store does the job for a quick fix. I'll be back if I am on my way in or out of Avon, but I'll wear some nose plugs first...
